What is the best Microfiber towel on the market for Drying cars???

Thank you for your responses everyone.

After reading this thread multiple times and reading the products that are recommended I have come down to two options. The MF's I am considering are:

PakShak Green Monster" Ultra-Microband Plush Micro Fiber Towel

Fluffer Miracle Supra Microfiber Towel

Please let me know what you guys think and if there is anything else I should look into. Thanks.

Just for clarification, you don't plan on using either of these to dry the car after washing do you?

It is... easy to recommend PakShak or Excel Detail as a vendor because their products and customer service can't be beat.

Absolutely :xyxthumbs Both are 100% in every possible respect. They're the kind of companies (and individuals) that I like spending money with.

Yeah...good catch. They might not be too bad if you a) get almost all the water off via other means first, and then b) give a little spritz of QD, and then c) buff buff buff until all the QD/residual water is (finally) gone. I've done that with MFs like those, and it worked OK, but it was *SUCH* a PIA compared to using a WW that I only do it when I have a very good reason for doing so.

Most of us have tons of MF's that run the range from Monster Fluffly to thinner pile to WW (waffle weave) drying towels. All have a use so it can be difficult to recommend just one towel unless the use for it is known.

agreed... :up

What I was planning on using it for was the first pass after washing with ONR and then following up with a WW.

wanted to point out that the blue perl waffle weave drying towel is on sale for $7.88 (there are also other items in the hot offers and last chance clearance sections) and add the " autopia " code (additonal 10% off) and it brings it down to $7.09!

p.s. someone needs to keep Lynn busy, sadly we don't see her much anymore :( . hope she's doing well...

-AND-

Ok, but why do you want to do that?

I've sometimes done something like that; I spritz my QD on the somewhat-dry panel, wipe most of the QD and residual water off with a Monster Fluffy or Shamrock, and then finish up with my PakShak Ultra-soft WW.

Using the plush MF that way offers a bit of added insurance against marring should there be any residual dirt on the panels (yeah, I know...there *shouldn't* be but, well, I still worry sometimes).

PakShak's ultra-soft waffle weave is the best drying towel I have come across yet.

Agreed, overall it's my fave too, but with one qualification- I have a few WWMFs that *seem* to be basically identical to my PakShak Ultra-soft ones. Different color, but the same towel otherwise as far as I can tell

I *think* this happens with other MFs too, which makes sense as there are only so many companies making them and I doubt that *every* vendor has their own unique specs.

I saw these in Walmart for $4

i have the older blue perl waffle weave drying towel, and it's not even close to the walmart ones. the blue perl is bigger and ultra soft (the only ones i will use) unless they changed it, which to my understanding is just only the edging. i really don't care for the walmart ww's and if i wanted to use a small one, i would use the small sonus ultimate microfiber towel which is basically a smaller version of the blue perl but yellow in color with red silk edging...

The ones in walmart are the exact same things.....and cheaper.

they are not. the ones at walmart are thicker but not as soft. do you OWN any blue perl or sonus towels that are mentioned? they would be similiar to the pakshaks if anything...

I found a nice Peak WW at PepBoys for $7. It seems quite soft. They have a couple different styles so it might have been a discontinued style.

BigAl really knows his stuff when it comes to various products and suppliers. I do not doubt him for a second when he says the Wal Mart towels are not the same as the Sonus ones (which, btw, I have and am very happy with).

Yeah they are the exact same ones.

How do you know, did you check all them out out on the slow boat from China:think:

Yeah, man. They're exactly the same. Yellow and rectangular. I mean blue and rectangular. I saw some Vintage at Walmart, too. It said "Turtle Wax Hard Shell" but I'm too smart for them. I'm on to their scams!
