opti-seal is here...

I'm a bit confused about how to apply Opti-Seal...is it a spray-on type of product or do I apply it with a pad? It seems to be a thin liquid, but is it like Klasse SG where you apply it by pad anyway? If so, is there any way to make it a spray-on product?

It is a spray on product.....better yet, the best form of application is spray on. It can be poured onto a pad, and yes a sponge pad is best, but by pouring one can easily over saturate the pad which will create application problems.

By sponge pads I'm not meaning a foam polishing pad one would use with an orbital or rotary polisher but a sponge wax applicator pad...the type you get with many paste waxes.

It is applied in very thin coats directly to the paint and it then evaporates. There is no drying of the product which in turn leaves a residue to wipe off.....there is no residue to remove, no buffing needed if applied correctly.

If the product requires very little application to cover the entire car, wouldn't it be hard to do so in a spray form especially since the product comes in a small package? With all my spray waxes, there's always lots of product waste despite trying to be careful.

Also, does Opti-Seal come with a pump spray head?

I use CS and am waiting for my order of OS to come. I have found if you spray the pad directly that there is very little product waste especially if you are working outside. Mike...

You spray onto your foam applicator pad, not onto the paint. You will be stunned at how little product you actually use. Yes, it has a pump spray, and no, you don't use a full spray per panel-not even close.

Instead of the foam applicator pad, can I use a microfiber towel? I've always used foam pads when applying paste and liquid waxes, but I've really become spoiled and lazy with spray on products like OCW.

You can but in my testing I went through ALL kinds of materials to see what would work....flannel, diaper, cotton, felt, microfiber......and various sponge material and sponge worked best as it allowed you to apply the OS more evenly and it used less product.

You can try it but I suggest you do a side by side comparison and see if the sponge doesn't work best.
