dogma, you made some good points, but it feels Zaino based, particularly 4 5 6 7, i feel completely opposite as far as who the culprits are in that.



For me, CS has no look. I have it over ZAIO..it looks like ZAIO.

As I understand, OS has its own look..which is attractive to me. I've ordered OS and will have a place for both.

Zaino based ? Maybe a lttle. I love Zaino and its durability. If something comes along and I like the way it makes my car look I will use it Zaino or not. I don't jump in threads and start bashing products or members just because they don't use Zaino. I try and enjoy trying all the products I can . I will order OS I just ordered a bunch of CG's stuff and will continue to buy and try.



There are a lot of members who don't like Zaino and that's ok it's their choice. What is note worthy is when a Zaino user posts his enthusiasim for a detail or Z product and the bashing begins. Why? I will grant you there are a few Z users who go way overboard , but for the most part I see the known Z users to be very complimentery to other members details and product evaluations. Obviously there are tons on Z users just look at the poll we vote on. Z has a following and continues to develop new products.





It seems the Z haters are now disreguarding durability. Why? because Z products have the best durability. I myself could care less on my car about durability I go for looks.

I feel CS gave my car an extra bling bling. If OS looks better I will use it and not look back I have no vested interest with any line!



I can't help thinking that Zaino must have unlocked some aspect of the wipe and go formula so now everyone can finish theirs. No proof JMO.



I like Optimum products especially ONR for my Wifes Van. I spoke with David last week and found him to be a good guy,he answerd my questions and that helped.



I also spoke with Paul at CG and he was really good too . I ended up buying 50/50,Petes53

Mirror wet and I think M seal.



I also feel that some questions and responses are either rehearsed or for the purpose of setting up a particular answer. You guy's can't tell me you don't see or think this.



Well, just let me say I am looking forward to trying OS and the other products I just purchased. it looks like its going to be a great summer with all these new products and technology. This is a great site with ton's of good info.



Also it's inevitable that these 2 products are going to cause a Yankees / Red Sox type of bickering.

I have seen a lot of changes in products in the last few years.

The Optimum Spray Wax and Polish started some of the trends and have brought about change. Others have followed with what they view as better. You could argue that they are better. What do we get out of all this? Company's like Zaino and Optimum making better products that are easier to use with fantastic results.

Both will haze lightly if you apply too much. Just go over any hazed section with your primed applicator pad or wait until fully dry and wipe with an MF towel.



It takes a little practice to get the amount down with either product but once you do, both are a piece of cake to use.



At first, I though the wipe on/walk away application was a little gimmicky but after doing a few large SUVs and only having to go around them one time, I really like that aspect of them.

I have no problem with people being enthusiastic about products but when their posts and the next two from others all read like Zaino ad copy, it is kind of irritating.

The Optimum version has been in devlopment for two years. I don't think either Sal or David had any idea both were working on a similar product until this year.

I think that is good in a way. It pushes the respective companies to continue to improve their product line. In the end, we all benefit.



And yes, after trying several newer Zaino products, I agree with you it is an excellent product line. Z-PC, Z-AIO, Z5 Pro and Z8 are all high quality, and I like how well Z-PC and Z-AIO play well with other product lines. :)

Look at the Zaino issue this way. If you are relatively new and have used very traditional products your entire life, if you remember when Vista was a revolutionary product, but you liked Turtle Wax in the green bottle, and then you come across Zaino for the first time, you can't help but be impressed. You probably jump up and down a little too much with enthusiasm and say the "Z" word too many times per sentence.



Then you start investigating and realize some things. Z5 doesn't really do much for swirls. You're gonna need a PC and some serious cutting gels. Not only that, Z isn't the only game in town for that sort of product; there are some others that are gaining some good reputations. And there's Megs, with a much wider depth of products available. And, ya know, there are some pretty nice carnuba-based products out there as well.



It's kind of evolutionary. I say let people grow and they'll figure it out. I got incredibly lucky B.Z. (Before Zaino) because I entered my 67 MkII Jaguar in the local car show, and for doing so the local auto parts store gave every entry a BOX shock full of Meguiar's stuff. I swear it had one of everything. Well, that happened three years in a row and they kept adding Meguiars products to the mix. I still have a couple of detailing spray bottles left. I was in detailing heaven! Threw out Simoniz! THEN I found Zaino. Nice, truly! Easy to use (after you've done the real work!) But not the only game in town. So, a little tolerance to Zaino Zealots. Everything's cool.

Not saying I would do it, but if Opti-seal confers its own look and CS doesn't change appearance but "locks in" whatever's underneath it, then it may not be that far-fetched an idea. Maybe you get some enhanced durability? A lot of us here will probably have both anyway. :nixweiss

Yup, things are about to get interesting. So far I have just been reading all the posts on both OS and CS. I love Zaino but order and try everything . As soon as Autogeek gets OS I will order, I order all my Optimum products from them. I am not your typical Zealot although for me Zaino fits all my needs I will try and use all products that seem interesting, I also give opinions based on my real world experience as a fanatic not a volume detailer or as a beta tester. I pay for everything ask my wife about my master card bill :laugh: alot of guys here get products to try and use certain products for free and that's cool ( I wish I did , I know my wife does.) One thing for me if I got something for free and didn't like it I wouldn't use it and If another brand was clearly better I would would rather use the better brand.



Things I know from my testing and reading the posts.

1. Nothing is as durable as Zaino period !!

2. Looks are subjective

3. No carnuba except Collinite will last ( but collinite is not the best looking carnuba)

4. There are guys here that clearly make it their life's mission to bash Zaino

5. A few not all Zaino guys go overboard.

6. A few guys hate Zaino but will bring Zaino into every thread just to bash .

7. Some questions and answers look and sound rehearsed.

8. Pictures are not always what they seem to be.
