opti-seal is here...

You can probably cover 50 cars with 8 oz, maybe even more.

Now that Opti-Seal is released maybe you or Anthony could describe what OS

looks like. The picture posted has the container in a box.

Will there be smaller or sample sizes available for purchase?

TIA

I think the big question will be Opti-Seal vs. CS as far as durability...(sorry if it's been discussed already).

I have $125 to spend (just spent $105 last week!) on detailing supplies and am on the fence whether to go with the whole Zaino package or the Opti-Seal

Poli-Seal + Opti-Seal sounds like a winning combo to me..

Oh, and my brother might be buying me a PC package for my (belated) bday!! Im so excited..

Opti-Seal is a clear liquid...well, I think it is clear, my sample bottles are white so I can't say for sure if it is 100% clear or has a light white tint.

One size is available, the 8 oz size.

does it really matter? do you only detail once every 7 months?

You're right, but by durability I kind of meant more towards the protection end. How well does dirt rinse off..etc.

I believe I came in on this a little late, but what are the benefits of the OS? And how do you apply it? 8oz for 50 cars? Do you mix it in with some other product???

Ah...well poliseal is a great product with nice durability and slickness, I can't imagine Optimum would release a pure sealant with any less qualities. I think as Autopians we sometimes get sucked too much into the product wars and there isn't always a huge measurable difference between products.

No it doesn't. It is just another up coming thread that will turn into a flame war.

Ladies and Gentleman get your popcorn and take a seat the fight will soon begin!:hide:

Im already seeing the guys at detailers club get geared up for it.

I can't wait to try OS! I've become a huge fan of Optimum products lately having recently tried their polish, compound, poli-seal and OCW.

Too bad I already have way too much stuff sitting here un-used...........maybe I'll buy a beater for the sole purpose of testing products on it. Or maybe not, I'm pretty sure my chick would kill me in my sleep.

Yup, things are about to get interesting. So far I have just been reading all the posts on both OS and CS. I love Zaino but order and try everything . As soon as Autogeek gets OS I will order, I order all my Optimum products from them. I am not your typical Zealot although for me Zaino fits all my needs I will try and use all products that seem interesting, I also give opinions based on my real world experience as a fanatic not a volume detailer or as a beta tester. I pay for everything ask my wife about my master card bill  alot of guys here get products to try and use certain products for free and that's cool ( I wish I did , I know my wife does.) One thing for me if I got something for free and didn't like it I wouldn't use it and If another brand was clearly better I would would rather use the better brand.

Things I know from my testing and reading the posts.

1. Nothing is as durable as Zaino period !!

2. Looks are subjective

3. No carnuba except Collinite will last ( but collinite is not the best looking carnuba)

4. There are guys here that clearly make it their life's mission to bash Zaino

5. A few not all Zaino guys go overboard.

6. A few guys hate Zaino but will bring Zaino into every thread just to bash .

7. Some questions and answers look and sound rehearsed.

8. Pictures are not always what they seem to be.

I can't wait to try OS , I also just ordered a bunch of CG's stuff too :heelclick

Excellent points Dogma.

My father told me years ago (decades) to always have a "secret" bank account. Not only to save a little money on the side but to use for things (detailing supplies) like our hobby.:dance

Well, those are "interesting" points, I guess. Just one word: PUNCTUATION :doh!

OptiSeal is a sealant and is of the "wipe on/walk away" variety. It has no cleaning properties, it's of a watery consistency and has a reported durability of 6 to 9 months.

It is applied in very thin coats or layers. Applying too much product will cause streaking but this can be remedied by buffing with a QD and MF.

Yes it's possible to get 50 cars with an 8oz bottle. Both Clear Seal and OptiSeal give you a lot of mileage for the buck.

No, you don't mix it with anything else. Just wipe it on and watch it dry.

As for a "product war".....I certainly hope it doesn't come to that. I think it wouldn't be beneficial to anyone nor anyone product if all we did was raise one and bash another. There are going to be people that love OptiSeal and what it offers and others who love Clear Seal and what it offers and then when the Ultima product comes out from DavidB people will jump ship from both OS and CS and take a cruise on the Ultima ship.
