NXT in Canada

You can get or at least order DACP and 82 through the Paint & Body Suppliers that carry Meguiar's products. I bought 32oz of DACP recently here. As noted earlier in this thread CT will not carry NXT this year.

So does that mean we Canadians HAVE to order online for NXT?? We Vancouverians can go to Lordco and get pretty much all of the beige bottles like DACP, SFP, #26, #20 etc etc.......

Hopefully D posts again today to let us know after going to Performance World when NXT is planning to be sold in Canada and also to let me know there is large supply at the show so I can purchase it on Sunday:D.

I emailed Carcaresmart because they had Meguiars NXT on their website. They said Canadian Tire might have it in May.

So anyword on NXT in Canada? Just trying to see if there is any news. If not I may take a trip to uperstate New York.

As a matter of fact I just attended a Meguiar's clinic by a couple of area reps last week here in Edmonton. They weren't Meguiar's Canada employees pre-say, but I think they were actually outside reps of some kind. They had the whole NXT line on display and said that the first shipments had just arrived into Canada that week. They couldn't tell me exactly when it will hit the shelves but they seemed to think places like NAPA should have it within the next couple weeks (but don't quote me on that).

They seemed surprised when I pulled my own bottle of NXT out of my jacket pocket. Heh heh... ;)

I found some NXT on the shelf yesterday at Dura Chemical in Hamilton. The wax was $30 CDN! I passed on that. The wash was $13 for 64oz, I purchased a bottle of it. I think the wax is going for $12 USD in the U.S. and the wash is $6. So we are paying double for it in Canada.:down

Not surprising.... Medallion often retails for similar prices up here.

Its not unique to NXT, its like that for most of Meguiar's consumer line in Canada.

NXT $15 US vs. $30? CDN

GC $10 US vs. $20 CDN

Cleaner Wax A-1216: $5 US vs. $13-$15 CDN

Quik Clay: $10 US vs. $20 CDN

etc.

However, I find that Canadians do fairly well for the professional Mirror Glaze line of products generally speaking pricewise when compared to US MSRP. Prices for things like #7, #26, #34, #40 etc. are much more reasonable compared to their consumer line counterparts.

Stevet,

That's the pricing I heard of as well.

Part of it is due to the dollar difference i.e. 35%

Part of it is due to duties i.e. ~10%

Part of it is due to Meguiars Canada i.e probably so ~5% I'd imagine

Part of it is due to distributers ~ 10%

Then Store mark-up. ~50%

Place like Cmax charge upwards of 40% markup.

When it helps shelves at CT in July, don't be surprised to see it in the high 20's. That may be one of the reason why CT is so hesitant to take on the product.

Joe Schmo walking into CT will hardly ever purchase a $30 wax like NXT. They'll reach for the Turtle wax or Eagle One or Meguiar's 1-2-3. A couple of the gold class people may make the switch but it'll probably not be many.

I was disappointed to find out how much it cost as well. That's probably one of the single biggest reason's I won't be jumping to buy a bottle. I'd rather go with Zaino, Klasse, Wolfgang etc. for that money. Knowing me, I'll probably pickup a bottle but the "excitement" factor reallly dropped when I realized the $$$ factor.

We do. We produce quite a bit of oil. You better bring you hockey sticks up here though. Otherwise, we'll cross check you back home. :bounce

Beer.

Beer is all-natural right? :D

Don't worry, we'll mix it 50:50 with soda water for you so you don't get alcohol poisoning. ;)
