Not a Vette... But still a Chevy! Overspray removal.

I just received my Paste Glaz kit, got a good deal- $40 complete. Anyway, I noticed the side of the containers say Eimann Fabrik on them. Are the products like Clear Pearl the same as Crystal Mist in a less fancy bottle? Also, does anyone use the Koala Soft towel? I doesn't feel as soft as either a good MF towels or Charisma towel, is it okay to use the Koala Soft? Thanks, I will post some reviews after I try the products later this week.

Pinnacle and Eimann Fabrik products are produced by CMA. They should be different products. The Crystal Mist has a higher carnauba percentage than Clear Pearl.

I use the Koala towel, but the older dark blue ones. They feel good and I use it to remove Souveran sometimes. If you have MF's and Charismas then continue using them if you fear the Koala towel. Do what you think is right, if it doesn't seem as soft and looks like it would scratch, use the towel for something else.

Hope this helps,

Jason

Jason's correct. The Pinnacle quick detailer has a bit more carnauba than the Eiman Fabrik Clear Pearl product. David B. wrote an awesome review of both products way back when in a subject area under Quick Detailing. Very good article. At any rate, both products are excellent. Most people here seem extremely pleased with the cheaper Clear Pearl product. Laters

This may seem like a silly question but do the alcohols they contain have any negative impact on the wax that is already on your finish ?

I have been using Clear Pearl for several months now with a MF towel and am very, very pleased with the product. I also use it on the windows of my garage queen (95Bronco) and it never smears or streaks. High dollar window cleaner 4 sure :) Any input on the alcohol ????

The general consensus (I believe) is that QD's contain alcohol, but not at a high enough concentration to remove a significant amount of wax. If you notice a change in the absorbtion of your QD in your regular routine it might be time to rewax.

contains pinnacle car wash, cleansing lotion, and rubber and vinyl protectant, along with the wax. All the products, except the wax, have a sticker on them saying "Eimann Fabrik."

I think the kits many off of Ebay must be of an older variety. I noticed by the tops look different compared to the newer ones which I ordered when the sale was going on at CMA. So most of these people must be getting an older variety before the label changed. Nothing to be concerned with though...as Pinnacle is top-notch. :up

Even though I'm kind of known as a Corvette specialist, I kinda like this old car. Power steering, power brakes, and, best of all... COLD A/C!

This car was brought to me for the removal of HEAVY OVERSPRAY! The overspray on this car was so thick, claybar wouldn't touch it.

I did clay the car first to remove the big chunks. But it was the M205 that worked it's magic!

Process....
Washed with ONR
Clayed with Zaino Red Clay
Polished a test area with M205/white pad... found it to not be quite enough cut.
Changed to M205/orange pad/Griots/speed 5/medium pressure
Followed with BFWD x2/no cure time between coats
Finished with Z8
Polished headlight lenses

BEFORE: It's hard to capture the amount of overspray until you see the 50/50:

50/50's: Overspray came off easily with M205/Orange pads:

Great job there Bill, it looks so sharp! BTW the dog is amaze at the shine and is blinded by it!:wizard:

Great work Bill. That is a great looking Chevy, but how on earth did it get so much overspray on it? I believe I would have been very highly upset with someone.

The owner did it himself. He had the car parked in his driveway and he was painting a white metal table and chairs in his garage with rattle cans!!!! (I guess he wasn't thinking too clearly that day!)

Nice job once again William! Beautiful piece of GM history and I love the 2 tone.

Looks like good ole 205 did the trick. 50/50's look awesome.

I do the same thing with my 105/205 bottles i.e. Sharpie the numbers on the TOP of the bottle! The bottles are identical and I'd hate to grab 105 when I meant to grab 205.
