What is a good buffer ?

An orbital would be a good choice there are a few on the market. I have De Walt but the Porter Cable is another one that most like.

8 cars a day is a lot are you fixed location or mobile

Do you plan on just applying wax/sealant or getting into more of a corrective/restore application (like removing scratches and swirls..etc)

If it's for application, then a Dual Action Like beemer sez - if you want more then you should go rotary.

Well I will be doing car lots used cars and also some customer cars so mainly it would be just wax and sealant for the most part

If your doing car lots then a orbiotal woulkd be the choice for me. They are for the most part looking to get the car shinny and that's about it. I would also look for a wax that has fillers so that you can mask the swrils. With the amount of cars you are going to do you are going to be busy

I'd go for the speed of a rotary. You could turn out cars pretty fast with one of those and your audience is captive. Would be a pretty good learning experience too.
