New Klasse

I wish David B would comment since most of what has been offered up in this thread is speculation.

I'm not chiming in on this thread because until I have facts... it's just BS!

I pulled samples from existing stock. I'm now waiting until our new shipment comes in (this coming week).

I must say, though, the positioning going on in this thread is pretty thick!

I'm very interested in seeing the results David B attains. I trust anything he says, does & sells when it comes to detailing products. As for most of the posts on this thread...........Specualtion get's us nowhere!

I cannot believe the speculation in this thread. There is not a single fact posted here, just opinions and secondhand information. I thought you guys would have learned the dangers of and to recognize speculation from the NXT Tech Wax release...

Congratulations David for not jumping on the bandwagon!

Sounds like the makings of a comparison test to me. :xyxthumbs :bounce

I just got off the phone with Bob. As a Klasse vendor I also needed answers. I do not want to send a different product to unsuspecting customers either. In point form here are some things Bob Faragasso had to say. Remember, his words, not mine, He asked me to post for him.

-That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

-It would be bad business not to tell our customers, vendors, distributors,

-Our VLR product was once changed and we informed all vendors, why I wouldnâ€â„¢t do the same now!?

-If I was forced to sell a sub-standard product I would close the doors on Klasse.

-If I knew how to work a computer I would love to explain

-It doesnâ€â„¢t surprise me a Zaino guy started this rumor

Hey EShine is back, weren't you the one who left us with a big-ol' emotional goodbye? I could be wrong, but I thought you said you can't post anymore here for ethical reasons or something. Anyhow, welcome back.

I also AIO for it's cleaner power and could care less about the protection it leaves behind, so even if it was true I would still use the product. For the work it does in my doors jams of every detail I couln't find anything better. However, I am kinda bumbed that my old bottles of AIO aren't going to be worth tons of cash. Are you sure it hasn't changed?:D

Still sort of a noob and haven't actually used the Klasse twins yet but I was looking forward to doing so in the future.

After reading through this thread I'm wondering could it be possible that there just may have been a "bad batch" of Klasse product that got shipped kind of like you can occasionally get a "bad tank of gas" due to factors beyond the control of the filling station?

:nixweiss :nixweiss :nixweiss

Given the complexities of chemistry, production, shipping, etc. isn't it possible that a "bad batch" abboration possibly got past the Klasse qc and into the pipeline? Perhaps we should just wait and see if this whole "Klasse has changed it's fromula" thing is in fact a long term problem?

At any rate, I'm subscribing to this thread and I'll be watching, along w/ everyone else, w/ great interest!

blkz28conv,

You are saying the new AIO still cleanses very well? Does it clean as well as the original version? What about ease of use? Slickness? etc. What differences did you notice between the two versions of AIO?

stevet,

I noticed no change in cleansing ability or the final appearance of the surface. Still very smooth and that Klasse gloss. No change also in it manner of application. I buff AIO into surface with polishing pad and PC until almost completely gone. Wipes off as easy as before with zero dusting. :xyxthumbs

I hope the experience of NS is aberrant event rather than a sign of things to come. I have always loved AIO as my one-step door jam and engine compartment cleaner-protectant.

As mentioned earlier I have not used AIO as a exterior paint sole protectant (IPA wipe before applying Z polishes), so I can not comment on longevity of protection or change in such.

Amen, David. :xyxthumbs

Logic and reason prevail! I thought Chicken Little was going to make an appearance here. I'm here for the process, not the product.

As you will see itâ€â„¢s a â€Ëœvery user friendlyâ€â„¢ place, the people on this forum are very knowledgeable, and are more than willing to share their knowledge. The one thing that seems to stand out here compared to other special interest forums is a spirit of "open mindednessâ€Â, itâ€â„¢s not marques or brand specific and no opinion expressed is â€Ëœwrongâ€â„¢ just different.

Lets not go back to berating products or people, the forum â€Ëœatmosphere has improved for the (very much) better latly lets not take one step forward three steps back.

Ive been using this stuff for a long time and Ive used enough of it on different cars to know the difference. The last bottles I have of both AIO and SG, are without a doubt, definitely different products to all previous bottles I have. The color, feel and smell are very obviously different. It really didnt matter to me until I had trouble getting the SG to set up. It takes forever for it dry.

After seeing a few cars completely lose beading after a few washes, I knew it was not the same. I did a water water solubility test in a glass. Both reacted very similar. I split the hood of my test pig down the middle and compared the old to the new with a cold water rinse the day after application. After 5 minutes the new stuff was dead and the old stuff was still beading tightly. About 4 weeks later, the entire side with new SG was flat. The other side is still glossy and beads after 6 weeks.

In comparison, this new Klasse is not even playing in the same league with the previous formula.

No matter what they say, it is, what it is...

Interesting. If you dig around you'll find an interview with him regarding a reformulation of klasse. The date of that interview and the time of the change are unspecified, though it's a year since I saw it.

So, it might be quite possible that the change took place a year or more ago, and that you (and others) didn't know it because you haven't bought any product since then. None of us use Klasse heavily, so we don't go through it rapidly.

There's a test lab type study of Klasse SG in this forum from a few weeks ago that pretty much supports what you've observed. Klasse tests #1 & #2

As a purchaser of Klasse from less than a year ago, I'm one of those that hasn't found the lifespan to be anywhere near what others have claimed for the product. Hence the inspiration for the testing.

I've found the comparisons of Klasse to NXT to be an indicator of a change and problem with Klasse. For there is a very clear division of those that think NXT is quite superior, and those that think it vastly inferior. In fact, it was NXT and my rather disapointing Klasse results that lead to the product testing I've done on Klasse. I'm one of those who found NXT to be superior, and my Klasse purchase was from less than a year ago.

If KLASSE did in fact change the formula (versus maybe just a bad batch), I am sure other users will notice this too. We have many users here, so only time will tell.

Bob Faragasso Interview

In this 2004 interview, he says SG was reformulated about 4 years ago. It is quite plausable that many folks are only now running into this product on the store shelves when they make purchases, since Klasse isn't a high volume usage product.

He describes the reformulation as minor. Perhaps it was not so minor after all.

NozeBleedSpeed, could you describe the differences you've noticed in the products? As in smell, color, etc. This could help others who have Klasse products distinguish if they've got similar types. We might find that indeed, some of us do have a "new" formulation distinctly different from the classic Klasse. I would certainly be interested in seeing if the product I have is the same as the "new" and sub-par Klasse products you have.

Wow, where do you all come up with these crazy ideas? There are so many topics of interest and ideas to share. I guarantee this is, and has been a complete waste of valuable time.

A major reformulation on any established product is rare, and you can be assured distributors and vendors are informed. Reformulations are usually to improve a product, which would be a welcomed announcement and certainly not hidden.

Klasse has not reformulated the AIO for 20 years or the Sealant Glaze for more than 7. The Leather/Vinyl Cleaner was reformulated some time ago to meet VOC regulations. It is now a water based cleaner.

Please continue your detailing, while secure in the knowledge that Klasse is still the same wonderful product it has always been.

Ah, so sounds like the Klasse twins have nothing to worry about concerning the VOC regulations.
