:secret The Schlegel pads are made by EDGE.

Yes they are. Very good pads and I have been using them for 10 years now.

I also have been using the presta pads which is the edge 2000 and they work very nice. The 8'' foams work awesome with the hitachi and run very smooth and balanced.

Schlegal pads are great though!

Schlegal makes thier own pads ..they have a pad called the edge because of the design of the edge of the pad...it has a patented twin beveled edge..so called the edge pad

actually you could be right about that Al cause I was just thinking about that. I was down at don kennetts the other day in lowell and I noticed the name edge on the schlegal pad and I thought that was kinda wierd, but I did not look into it. It was just a glance at them.

I just realized after I thought of how long I have been using them for and it might be even longer than 10 years and maybe more like 15. Edge has not been out that long, atleast I do not think so

yes it is snowing....I went to edit my post and deleted it..but the Schlegal are made buy them

I was using thier wool pads in shop in school in the 60's....thier foam ones came out in the late 70's.....

they are called edge for the design...beveled edge...

I remember Don Kennet in Lowell haveing those pads in the 80's...I was buying paint for my Mach1 ..Coal Tar Black Imron..boy those were the days....the Father ran the store then...he was great....he use to fix DA's ..do the bearings and vanes....

AL

what I see is Edge calls thier pad the classic...schlegal calls thier pad the edge from design...

little more info...

When the original Edgeâ„¢ pad burst onto the market in 1994, every

existing foam buffing pad in the world became obsolete. The Edge

quickly won popularity for its convenience, durability and economy.

I used shclegals before 1994 ...the foams also....

AL

same here.haha

I know the edge classic is the edges first system. the edge 2000 is the new locking spindle with the 2 sided locking pad. I am sure you know that anyway. I recently just started using the Edge2000 and they are ok.

I am gonna order some more shclegal pads cause they work flawless and glide very nice.

A local place in town carries all the Presta stuff. A few days ago I bought 5 wool and 5 foam labeled Presta pads (licensed from Edge 2000) . They have all the Presta polishes too.

you bought all the different grades of wool and foam?

I use the yellow and green wool and the blue foam. So far I like them a lot.

I've got a question.

Could a guy use Presta ultra cutting creme light in a 3-step waxing process? Such as:

1)Wash vehicle

2)Meguires paint cleaner

3)Presta ultra cutting creme light

4)Finish off with a wax

Thanks for clearing this up!

While I am still waiting for my Presta line-up to arrive, I think you'll need an intermediate step following the UCCL...such as Z*PC or the Presta #1500.

I'm sure Ryan can share more thoughts on this.

Are you using a PC? What color?

If so a simple process would be

Wash

clay

ultra cutting creme light w/pc on yellow LC pad or white pad depending on paint

presta swirl remover, zpc or 106ff on a white lc pad

wax or sealant

would this process be good using the PC 7424

Wash

clay

Presta Ultra cutting creme light - yellow pad

Presta Chroma 1500 polish - white pad

Natty paste wax Blue - Blue pad

or should i put a Presta swirl remover- white pad between the creme and polish?

Picture of car i will detail

I would use the swirl remover instead of 1500 on white pad w/pc. The 1500 is more of a rotory high speed polish.

Nice looking car. Man the things I could do with that.BLING!
