Hey detaildoc! What do you use to clean wheels with ONR? GS, or MF?

To clean the Wheels with ONR I used a MF since it is easier to get into smaller spaces. However, I have only done that twice. ONR is not a good degreaser, so if your wheels are very dirty and have a lot of grease it won't work as well. If the wheels only have some grime, then that's a different story.

Alrighty!! Count me in as a new official Lowes GS user! I like the cleaning ability, and how easy it is on my hands! I can control the amount of ONR in the sponge and wipe away!

I went to Target during my lunch break yesterday and bought the blue Vroom MF wash mit. Very very soft, but I decided to use the GS first. I think I might not use the Vroom one after all.

Now I need to change my signature LOL!

Are you talking about the vroom wash mitt that is Micro-chinille? If so, I saw that there awhile back and they are super soft. They remind me of sheepskins, but I wonder how well they release dirt back into the rinse bucket.

Yes that one. It's very soft. According to my gf, she uses it and complains how heavy it is when it absorbs the water.

Sweet! :bigups Gotta love the price also.

I just ran to Lowes on my lunch break and picked up two of the Proline 1.87 GS. They're smaller than I thought and to my eye the easy grips actually looked bigger. I got the regular ones though and will probably try these with ONR first. I always have a problem with ONR releasing the dirt from my sponge/mitt, so I'm anxious to see if the GS helps.

When I used the GS, I rubbed it against my grit guard, squeezed it and it was clean like new everytime it had contact on my finish. Very smooth when you're scrubbing the panels!

Hmm well I picked up two yesterday, and have yet to try them out. Rain is coming this weekend, so I'll wait to wash the truck. I am very skeptical about this. I know many of you praise this thing, but I still don't like the idea of cleaning my truck with a sponge. So, I'm gonna do a test. I'll clean one half the truck (like the drivers side) with the sponge and the other side with the mitt. I'll take pics of the paint, and I'll try to do this for about 10 washes, and then I'll see if there are long term differences.

Yes very cheap, and I don't have to wait!

How many washes you think one can last?

I have done approximately 25 washes now with one and still going strong. You don't even need to rub it against the grit guard to clean in, simply rinsing it in the rinse bucket is enough to make it come out as new.

If you really want a good comparison wash one panel with the Lowes GS under the halogens and another with your mitt also under the halogens and that way you will get an immediate comparison. This would be a better way to compare it since your drying process is more likely to cause swirls marks. Also, make sure your car is free from swirls before making the comparison. When drying, I use a high quality Waffle Weave using the patting method rather than rubbing the car with the towel.

Yes, I always blot dry, so most swirls for me come from the grit in washing. So far I have been pretty successful at minimizing swirls with my mitt, but I'm willing to try the sponge.

detaildoc,

how would the sponge peform on a bumper full of dead bugs.

i have to worry about bugs all year long, and in the spring time. Love bugs!

$1.23? You probably got the "easy grip" version, which I have never tried, but it should work just as well since they are the exact same material just a bit smaller and shaped a little different.

Here is the one we've been talking about

This is probably the one you got:

Did not see the other ones...I grabbed the easy grip...Lowes is only 6 miles away...I will look for the larger ones when I go back this week.....Thanks for the heads up...........:bigups

Just use the easy grip GS you got, it is exactly the same one just different shape, so it should work just fine. Usually they mix them both in the same box.

Hmm! Don't know since I don't have that problem with bugs where I live, but I would guess it would work just fine since you can probably remove most of those bugs with the hose. Sometimes when the car is extra dirty and there's a lot of mud and tough grime on the lower panels I end up using the Home Depot GS for that part since it has a harder texture, but still safe, so if the GS sponge does not work for the bugs due to it being ultra soft, try the HD sponge for that.

Do you have a picture of the HD GS?

Once my car gets covered in bug guts, I'll try the pesticide sprayer and pre soak it and see if that helps. If it does fail... time to bring out the hose and give it a traditional carwash.

Below is a link to a post by Spoiledman that contains a pic (scroll down)- He first introduced us to the GS. It is by Superior Bilt and they come individually wrapped.
