Grout pad

Well, I loved it! No marring that I noticed under halogens (no sunlight today), and once I stated washing I felt much safer. I didn't even bother to go get the sheepskin. It also released the dirt/grit into the rinse bucket very easily (as mentioned). Another thing that I like is that, as I'm going along the panels, I can occasionally squeeze the sponge to create more suds and release a little more wash water. I use a foam gun to soak the panel, and then take the sponge from a bucket of water/soap and squeeze more suds out as I get to the lower part of the panel. It is now my new wash media. Thanks for turning me on to this guys!

Another satisfied customer. I always keep one for ONR and another one for regular washes.

I went back to lowes and bought one Friday. Didn't have time to wash anything today and they are giving rain all day tomorrow when I head back to school....

Probably wont be home for another 3weeks till I get to try it out. :(

Dude, get some ONR.

I just bought another Lowes GS today. My first sponge I had, I cut into 1/4 peices so I can use for my wheels. Lets so how this alternative does vs. a reg MF towel.

After reading through all these posts I think I'm going to give it a try.

Dude, just go out and get one. It's a whopping $1.87 (or something like that), and if you don't like it once you start using it you can throw it away. But you won't, because it's absofrickinlutely awesome.

$1.23? You probably got the "easy grip" version, which I have never tried, but it should work just as well since they are the exact same material just a bit smaller and shaped a little different.

Here is the one we've been talking about

This is probably the one you got:

Ok...I just got both from Lowe's yesterday. Surprisingly, the 'EASY GRIP' (2nd one on the photo) is 'softer' than the 1st one to me... Could someone confirm this?

Thanks.

I tried mine for the first time yesterday with an ONR wash. I must say that I"m very impressed. I've always had a problem with my wash media coming clean during an ONR wash and the grout sponge looked like new everytime I dipped it back into the rinse bucket. I'll be polishing out the car this week and will be inspecting the paint after each wash to see if swirls come back from the GS. From what I can tell, it looks like the Grout Sponge is definately a sleeper detailing product.

Glad you like it. I'm going to perform my 2nd ONR wash and GS today after work. Can't wait! :woot2:

Try it with ONR also, you will love it.

I think they are the same, the easy grip version may "feel" softer, but I think that is because it is narrow so your hand covers it more and that makes it easier to squish, but the texture is exactly the same.

 Hmm! Could be, although even with the many regular ones that I have, some have larger pores than others. Now I have to check it out, but the only way to be sure is to compare a bunch of the two with its own kind and with the other. Either way the Lowes GS rocks and remains for me the safest media to use on my ultra soft clearcoat.

IMO, as far as GS go, the Home Depot sponge is far better quality, denser, and softer to me. The lowes GS is smaller, lighter, and doesnt hold enough solution IMO. Once you have a handful of washes on the HD sponge, they soften up even further.

Either way, they both work well.

i like both the HD and Lowes GS's, but the Lowes is a bit softer and easier to handle/manuever. everyone is going to have their own opinion, but in the end you can't go wrong with either... :2thumbs:

I use them both, but on extremely dirty lower panels I sometimes use the HD GS because I find it to be just a bit harder, so it works faster on tougher grime.
