Grout pad

Ok, how do the sponges pick up the grit? I just can't get over the fact that it seems like it will only push the grit around. How can it pick it up? I'm dying to get one, but the roads are crazy snowy today and my mom won't let me out.

Did you get the right one? It is yellow. They have other ones that are not soft. You must have gotten the wrong one because this one is super soft.

agreed ^, must have picked the wrong one (this is the softest sponge i have ever felt). just for everyone's info, here is the GS that is being referred to...

Does it not seem weird that youre using some old cleaning sponge on your paint? :grinno:

I cant really stand it any longer, I should of picked one up. :chuckle:

it's actually very surprising how well the grout sponge rinses clean. I'm still on the original 2 that I bought and besides little nicks and tears in the sponge, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a new or used one.

I used to use Meg's microfiber mitts and if you want to do a little test that will sell you on the grout sponge, go take the mitt and clean one of your wiper blade then on the other blade use your grout sponge. Rinse both out in your bucket with the grit guard and you will be sold. For me, the best part is that if I'm doing multiple washes in a row, I don't have to switch to a clean mitt when I get to the next car. With a good rinse, the grout sponge is ready to go again. No need to spend all that money on mitts and the hassle of having to wash them in the washer.

They are super absorbent and everything gets absorbed into the large pores. They also rinse out very easily, just rinse them a few times in your rinse bucket and they come out looking like new, so no risk of marring your paint.

Agree! That is because they are ultra soft. I have done at least 20 washes with mine so far, and only a few nicks and tears, but at that price, you can replace them as often as you want. I just picked up a few more yesterday. Hey BiGAl, I left a few for you at the Lowes on Magnolia :bigups, to my surprise, they did not have as many as the last time I went.

agreed. also, when you wash in one direction and carefully so, it's not a hassle to dip it into the rinse bucket often since it's so light and rinses perfectly clean vs. a mitt where it's heavy (especially when wet) and is bothersome at times...

any sponge is going to get a few nicks & tears eventually, not really a big deal especially when they are only $2... :)

Well put just go's to show that you don't have to spend a lot of money, for a good washing tool. And THANKS for this forum so we can get great input on how to make easer on us .

So I got to try out the GS today.. and OMG am i in love! This thing is GREAT. It's amazing how easily the dirt releases from the sponge once in the bucket. I also love how much product this thing can hold. It held WAY more water and suds than my old lambswool wash mitt. Definitely worth the money:xyxthumbs

Sweet! :woohoo: Glad you like it. Gotta give the credit to BigAl though, he discovered the Lowes GS and introduced me to it :bow

Just bought 4 Lowes Proline GS for $1.23 each. These will be great knowing that they will not create swirls. I think these will replace my lambwool mitts. thanks for the information.:thx

$1.23? You probably got the "easy grip" version, which I have never tried, but it should work just as well since they are the exact same material just a bit smaller and shaped a little different.

Here is the one we've been talking about

This is probably the one you got:

I read this thread for the first time today and see how everyone is talking about the Lowes GS.

Well.. before I went to see my GF for Valentines, I told her I had to make a quick stop before coming over. She was all excited and thought she was getting something. I said I went to Lowes and bought a grout sponge for my carwash.

Since I'm using ONR for the 1st time tomorrow. I'll see what all the fuss is about with the GS.

:chuckle: That's hilarious man. I hope you did get her something nice though (like some new power tools or something :D). If not, I guess Happy Valentine Day to you. Let us know how you like it with ONR.
