Zymol Concours vs. Natty's Blue!

I took a look at this product. This product has polymers. Zymols are not formulated with polymers. Zymol waxes are all-natural. By definition, this "wax" is closer to a sealant if they are touting polymers as a significant ingredient.

I am not sure what this wax looks like in its results. Maybe someone can try it out and see whether its performance shows up.

I won't go over the price issue again, as we are well aware of Zymol's asking prices. Zymol is a proven product. In my comparison (as well as the testimony of the author and some contributors of this thread) it dominated several wax brands mentioned. To me, that's justification enough to warrant my business. Only a curious detailer will ultimately have to decide whether Zymol will be worth the asking price.

Let's see if anyone is willing to put chemical guys to the test against Zymol. This would be an interesting face-off.

Alright,

I'm out of my mind. Or I had too much to drink last night (really it's both).

But I ordered the Concours and HD Cleanse last night. They are out of stock on the sampler kit, so ... whatcha gonna do? Spend $200 on wax? I'm really looking for the best possible look on my super-finished S2000, which is more and more becoming a garage queen.

If I'm disappointed, I'm coming after you guys, lbls and MikeyC (regardless of my feelings I think my wife is coming after you) ;)

You won't be dissapointed. I just ordered some of the Concours as well and recieved it last week. Instead of HD cleanse, I used Vanilla Moose by hand to strip the vehicle. Previously, the car had FPII, RMG, werkstatt carnuba prime, 2 coats AJ trigger, 3 coats Souveran, one coat Natty's Blue, and is a garage queen (Suzuka blue S2000) so it was looking fantastic to say the least. Being the perfectionist I am, I VM'd the whole car and put a layer of the Concours estate glaze down. A couple of my friends were over to witness, and everyone could notice the difference. I first did just one fender, and we then compared the fender and door. I didn't think the car could have looked any better, but the end result was amazing!!!! One coat of Concours looks better than the 6 coats that was on it. A lot more metallic was evident, and the car looked better in every aspect...... my hats off to Zymol Concours Glaze

Edit: this would be pointless without some pics:

If it looks this wet after just one coat, I can't wait till I have five on it!!!! :2thumbs: As soon as that sampler kit gets back in stock, I am gonna have to do some more experimenting......

Where did you order from?

I ordered mine from amazon.com and paid $164 on sale. Inspired by this thread, I just went out and slapped another coat on and  Once the sun comes back out, I will let the pics do the talking....

Hey Animes2k.....You know where to find me if things don't work out. I have a strong feeling that you will be surprised. PM me if you have any questions, and I'll be glad to assist.

You have the formula down good, as you have to clean up any lsp that you have currently on the paint. Although it is popular to use, I would not recommend that you use a sealant underneath concours, or pair it up with other waxes. The pure carnauba has to mate as close to the paint and color as possible to see its full spectrum. If you are going with just the HD cleanse (and not the nine yards with the buffer, although hd cleanse - I like hd cleanse pro, can be used with a buffer), you can put concours right on top. I stress though that your paint has to be clean in order for you to see the difference between what you were using before vs. Concours. Zymol needs very little or no assistence in order to see results.

Let me know how you do.

PS: Ordering from Zymol direct is usually the best way, as they ship concours and the rest of the mega buck waxes free..........nice of them huh!?!

Please do!!!!! See if you can get some long range reflected shots too.

Edit: I saw the pics above..........................speechless. I just can't really put it in words other than remarkable!

If you search on google, other companies still have the starter kits with concours.

lbls1 - What's the difference between HD-Cleanse and HD-Cleanse Pro?

Bioman, HD-Cleanse pro has a brown type of color to it, and smells like chocolate milk...seriously. It is a bit more active in getting the paint clean (although I've heard good things about the regular hd cleanse). HD-Cleanse pro I believe also lent itself better with the use of a buffer. You won't go wrong IMO with either hd cleanse, but if youare going for the big clean with a buffer and another polish, then I recommend hd-cleanse pro either via hand or pc.

You guys be prepared......this stuff is habit forming!

I am looking for the Monterey sampler kit that does not have concours in it. I has 3 of their finest estate glazes in it but it seems to be temporarily unavaliable :bawling:

What are they? Atlantique and Vintaaagghe (spelled for pronouncing effect)? I would talk about them..wow, but I kind of want to stick with the virtues of Concours in this topic. Feel free to try those if you can't find concours, because they are incredible!

If I didn't mention it earlier, I wouldn't mix even the different zymol brands. Your result will be stronger and more optically clear with a concentration on one model of zymol of your choice.

I wouldn't mind a kit, but I think I'll be fine with Concours :)

And my paint is immaculately clean as it is. I've just finished a complete swirl/scratch removal on the whole thing (Optimum, 106FF/RMG). I figure I'll PC it at medium (4-5) with a finishing pad or rotary and finishing pad (<1000rpm) and HD Cleanse to clean off the AIO+Souveran that's on most of the car now.

One of my personal favorites to use....just as a sweetener, is to apply Sonus Acrylic Glanz on top of the polish b4 moving onto Concours. I use the glanz as an alternative to a sealant, as it is a super thin coating that will not distort the surface of the paint finish, and it equalizes any residual light hazing, while adding a hint of gloss. Concours is powerful, but a little paint sweetener is always nice.

Ahhhgh, my ears! Why all the shouting?

Seriously, all-caps is generally used to indicate shouting in the forums. Please use mixed case for future posts.

Well, I'll be doggone!!! I can't find it on the net! You may need to call Zymol direct at 1-800-999-5363, and ask for Diane. I guess the hd cleanse pro is either discontinued or a limited item (or something). The regular hd cleanse comes in the white bottle, but the one I was referring to is a clear bottle with the brown paint cleaner. Sorry for the hassle, as I thought it was available retail (Diane supplied me with the hd cleanse when I was telling her of my plans this year). I'll keep looking because I have seen it listed somewhere. BTW, the bottle will still say hd cleanse, but it looks different than the regular item in the white bottle.

Edit: This guy uses this stuff: http://www.miracledetail.co.uk/auto-detailing-car-new.html?carID=112

No I don't expect you to contact him, but just as an illustration that I wasn't dreaming up this stuff. I'll keep looking.
