Zaino MF towel was released

.... Clearly, there is some non-domestic content to the towels, or it wouldn't be necessary to cite the FTC regulation.

Clearly there is some:

Made in the USA* of American and imported raw materials

Developed, processed, inspected, and packaged in the USA

Country of Origin: United States of America

*Complies with FTC regulations

(this time the bold emphasis is mine)

I'm relying rather heavily on the assumption that they are in compliance with the "virtaually all" description.

"All or virtually all" means that all significant parts and processing that go into the product must be of U.S. origin. That is, the product should contain no — or negligible — foreign content.

Again, he they are misleading in their description of Made in the USA, a call to the FTC would certainly be warranted.

Before I purchase any of these towels I will be pointedly asking the question as to the veracity of the statement. Has no one else called and asked? wannafbody? zaneo?

I have been using them since last August and love them. They work great at removing Zaino, Z6 and Z8. They also do not trap dirt in the nap like conventional mf towels.

the more i read this thread, the more tempted i am wanting to place an order - but $24.98 + how much in shipping - $10?

i can't justify that yet since i have some sweet cobra's coming tomorrow from autogeek :)

No doubt they are expensive, but they are probably top notch like everything else. I will probably order some soon too. I normally use the grey MF ones at Target. I have to say that when I order kits from AG or CMA I get upscale MF thrown in the package and you can definately notice the quality compared to OTC. It just makes sence you spend a lot for your car, car care products why use cheap MF. To me if its my car I want the best.

Imagine all the earthquakes Sal's going to create when he releases his new line of sealants? I’ll pray he doesn't market it as having an emulsion of Italian oil with an Artesian water.

What new line of sealants? I wonder if they'll contain German Super Polymers with crystal reflectivity and a hardness that rivals ceramic clear coat or maybe they'll have 3 additives and be three times as expensive:lol

Oh now I get it...the new towels are to remove the new sealant :D

Yes, because the new towels have a special coating that when used over Zaino molecularly charges the Zaino for additional durability;)

Adding a couple drops of ZFX to your wash water will keep the towel fluffy for longer than any other towel currently on the market:rofl

I just find it odd that when Sal releases any new product and all the haters form a mob and start character assissination and now fraud allegations:hairpull

Disclaimer: my first two comments are meant to be funny and not meant to be taken as literal attributes of the product in question.

I will say that the towels are nice. They don't necessarily FEEL any nicer to the touch than some of the other plush towels on the market, but they do a fantastic job soaking up QD residue from a panel. The real test for me will be to see how they hold up to repeated washings. If they maintain their current characteristics after several washings, they'll be a winner in my book.

thanks for the honest review... :up

Funny that someone looked up the FTC info for a detailing towel.

OT but, "Made in the USA" is a broadly interpreted phrase, as you discovered. All kinds of tricks are played to legitimately use the label while most of the product was made elsewhere.

Case in point, there is (or was until the article came out) a Japanese automaker who was trying to boost the "domestic" parts content of their cars. So, instead of importing components like alternators from Japan, they simply imported the parts for the components and screwed them together here by relatively unskilled, low pay workers.

The real work - designing and testing, creating the dyes, casting the metals, winding the coils etc., all done overseas.

Don't even get me going on OEM replacement parts for cars. I've seen some things come in that say "Made in Germany" on the packaging and were shipped from Germany, but were clearly sourced from someplace else. They don't look the same, they don't fit the same, and are clearly inferior. Somebody is lying.

^Nice post.

Same for luxury goods, things are made in china then shipped to italy to have handles attached to bags, buttons sewn on jackets so they can be labelled made in italy. Similar thing applies to things supposedly made here as well, fabric and weave are clearly stated as being imported which would in essence make them just like any other towel they just add their tweaks.

If this statement is in reference to the Zaino towels being discussed in this thread, please direct us to where in the product description it is clearly stated that the fabric and weave are imported. I've reade the description several times and evidently I'm reading right over that statement.

I am new to Zaino (and detailing), but just tried the new towels. They are softer than other microfiber and cotton towels I have tried. In reference to the question about absorbency, I used them to dry and two were more than enough to get the car dry. They are expensive, but so soft and absorbent I will probably get some more.
