but I agree with RickRack, if you have flawless paint its awesome (for sealants) but if you have swirls and scratchs :nervous2:
dan46n2 said:Optically clear is a marketing gimmick, the test is to look at it on a car. The best looking waxes are carnaubas and they are far from optically clear. Zaino makes the paint look like cheap plastic.

I bought the zaino all in one-z5-zfx ,now don't get me wrong it was OK but THAT'S IT my motorcycle is black and i'm always looking for something to give it more depth and a lot of you will probably laugh at this but after 9 coats of z5 w/zfx over a period of 5 days i really thought it just looked OK so i washed my bike w/dawn took off all the zaino and put 3 coats of liquid glass over a 24 hr period looks MUCH BETTER !
this is how i applied zaino , did i do somthing wrong
1st i applied the all in one and let it sit for 90 min.
2nd i removed the all in one and applied the z-5 w/a few drops of the zfx
after letting it sit for 75 min i removed it and repeated step 2 seven more times
over the next 5 days putting no more than 3 coats in a 24 hr period and disposing of any z5 that was more than a few hrs. old .
WHAT DID I DO WRONG !

They are made with fillers and cheap silicones to fill and shine the paint with ease. They will not last long and will need to be applied often. The only downfall is when it gets old, the silicon layers will build up on the paint making it worst giving it a chaulky hazy look.
rydawg said:I don't think you did anything wrong, but it sounds like the paint on your bike needs to be polished to restore the true beauty of the paint. I do a lot of black bikes and no matter how old/new they are, they always seem to take more abuse because the way bikes are handled.
Zaino is an amazing sealant when put on perfectly polished paint, but when put on paint that is in need of polishing, Zaino will amplify the true look of the paint. So if the true look of the paint is dull, hazy, swirled, etc., Zaino will amp the defects. Black paint shows defects easily the most and that's why it is most noticable compared to other colors.
Now, ZAIO is a good one step polish for some paints that are already in great condition, but for most black paints it sometimes will not cut it at all. I know that almost every black bike that I do no matter how new it is, I always have to do some serious 3 step polishing at minimum. Then I will wipe it down with alcohol to inspect the paint before I seal it to make sure it is 100% perfect.
I am not a zealot, but I have a lot of experience with Zaino along with other products and have a ton of fanatical Zaino clients and a bunch of them had issues in the beginning until I polished their cars the right way or gave them proper advice on how to do so.

You had great intensions of making your bike look it's best, but it sounds like you need some real polishing done before the Zaino.
Do you have any pics of the bike?
