What's your favorite car wash product?

speaking of car washes - someone told me that if you add a cup of distilled vinegar to your wash bucket (soap +2.5 gallons) it really helps with hard water (which I have an abundance of) - is that true or will my cup o acid be eating off my sealant?

Pinnacle....great smell, shine and cleaning ability. I buy it by the gallon which is a whole lot cheaper. You only need a 1/2 oz per bucket.

I used Pinnacle before switching to Griot's. I found it a little tough on some waxes, but yeah, it's good stuff :xyxthumbs Still a bit pricey though, even in larger quantities, at least if you go through a lot of it.

66 replies to this thread and no mention of Duragloss 901? I really like this stuff. It has to be the most underated car wash on Autopia. I have tried many car washes, Eagle one, Gold Class, NXT, P21S, Soft Wash Gel, Mothers, Deep Crystal, and a bunch more. Duragloss is now my favorite. It has excellent lubrication. Cleans well but not too harsh on the wax/sealant. Leaves a nice shine and rinses off nice. The thing I really like about it is no water spots. I have always had to QD after a wash no matter how fast I dried the car to get rid of water spots. Not with the Duragloss. It is buy far the best I have used when it comes to preventing water spots. The worst was P21S and Gold Class was not much better. You can buy Duragloss by the Gallon for $19.99 USD at CarQuest.

Was £2.50 1 Litre for the Sonax Gloss Shampoo a special offer/deal/discount from the Vauxhall Dealer ? Or is that the price they charge to everyone ?

Im not sure, i did not go in and get it. Last time i brought some it was about 6 quid a litre, not sure why it was soo cheap?

Yep, I did indeed purchase 5 litres for £14.10 inc. VAT. Pretty good value I reckon. The 500ml bottles were costing me £3.90 a throw.

I know other people that have purchased Sonax in different parts of the country - not one has paid the same price! God knows what Vauxhall dealers are playing at?

I just tried Griot's Car Wash for the first time today, and I was impressed. I'd been using Z7, but since I started topping Zaino with carnauba, I have been trying other washes which are supposed to be less harsh on waxes.

The Griot's is very sudsy, very slick, and cleans really well. I'd been using Perls, and I love it because of the gorgeous glossy look it leaves behind. Griot's can't match Perls for gloss, but it's a lot cheaper, so I think I'll be using Griot's a lot, and will use Perls once in a while when I want to give the car a "treat."

NXT suds up pretty well where I am and we have hard water over here.

Re-juvenates a NXT waxed car,and makes the rinse water really 'sheet' off, overall I am very impressed!
