What vehicle are you thinkng about buying and why?

I will be picking up a 04/05 Acura TSX next year almost for certain.

Why? My buddy has one, it has 190 000km on it, and it runs like it's brand new. Of course with regular maintenance, the car is solid as a rock. I've been and driven in many cars, and I have to say I'm extremely impressed with the build quality of that car.

I will use it as my daily, and will modify it for sure!!

I'm debating two other vehicles:

1. 1990 RX7 Turbo II.

Why: I plan to enter the local Time Trial league and want to use it as a race car, however it seems to be sort of disadvantageous to use this car for various reasons. All arrows point to racing a Honda or Acura, but then competition is massive for those cars. I want to enter a one of the lower classes, it's more for fun than anything.

The other option is to pickup something like an Acura Integra GSR and race it stock.

or

2. A Track Bike to Track and eventually Race in the local Bike leagues.

Something like a ZXR-750, CBR-600, etc etc. I use to have a bike and sold it.

I never been on the track, but I am almost 100% certain that after 1 track

day on the bike, I'll be hooked (just like 1 day on the track with my old car, I was hooked).

I can't decide to race Bikes or Cars, I've done the latter before already but not really competitively. The bike I can pick up 4k or less. The car is very rare, but I found one for $4200, but will need about another 4k to make it race ready (at the very least). A bike requires less. But, I will need a small bike trailer.

Damnit, decisions!

looking into:

-GMC Sierra HD

-Chevy Malibu Hybrid

-BMW 335i

Pretty wide range of vehicles, but the Sierra would replace my 2002 yukon and i would need a DD, most likely the malibu, thank god for GM family discounts.

I'm thinking about buying an Acura RSX. It's sporty, affordable, and reliable. My friend has one and its so fun.

I'm guessing you meant the Type S?

My girlfriend has a 2005 RSX and it is a serious dog. Downshifts like crazy on hills, and has to be revved like crazy to drive in normal situations. It also only gets 24 MPG, even with the best air filter on the market, a girl driver, AND she drives EASILY 75%+ freeway.

The car is also a rattlebox straight from hell, and the dash lights are going out...we have to smack the dash to see the gauges. She bought it new, and it now has 70,000 miles.

For $24,000, I think (and she agrees) it was a terrible investment.

My Focus was $13,300, is more fun to drive, gets 30+ even with me driving it like a race car 24/7, and hasn't give me issues yet (Only 27,000 miles though for me).

The new Focus (08+) is a fantastic car....MUCH nicer than the older ones, and priced similarly. My dad is going to grab one for a DD and because he heard so much about how awesome Sync was.

Just got my 2008 Lexus ES350 about 6 weeks ago. Great car and smooth ride. Rated 19/27, and I get around 25mpg since I drive mostly on freeway.

'09 Accord 3.5l V-6 six speed coupe. Why? Just cause, that's why........coupled with a little mid life crisis :chuckle:

All of your choices are very nice,

But a 1991 MB 560SEC AMG

Oh man would i kill for that car, another one to detail rev up and back in the garage

well i would more likely love driving it too much to do that

OMG, I had one of those!! Bought it in the early '90s for a fraction of the original cost. Mine was a '86 with the hand-built 4V cylinder heads, pearl black/black (stock/narrow body) with the big-and-little Ronal R9s. Herr Feyhl convinced me to change the rear gears to 4.10s and that made it more fun (it really wasn't so fun with the original highway gears). I even did some track days at MidOhio with it. The owner after me used it as his daily driver and racked up a zillion trouble-free miles (heh heh, after *I* spent a fortune getting its mechanicals sorted out).

Yeah, the '86-'91 W126 coupes are simply wonderful, and the AMG cars were the most fun (if not the most practical) of the lot. My wife still sorta misses our other SEC, a stock '88 in silver/blue.

We're definitely on the same page. I just can't afford it :nana:

The Chevrolet Volt. The car that will save GM.

The plug in car with a 40 mile battery, but also has a gas generator for additional 350+ miles.

If you have less than a 20 mile commute, you no longer pay for gas.

I am of the same verb. The Volt is high on my list in the years ahead.

I purchased a 08 HHR SS for a mix of everything but towing capacity. They don't recommend any towing at all on the SS model. I traded off the Black 03 Chevy Silverado for a Victory Red HHR. Better mileage, same comfort albeit smaller. and definitely more fun running a hot little engine with special suspension package and disk brakes front and rear. I am not being familair with sport suspensions. I was quite surprised by the responsive steering, stabilizing suspension, surprisingly strong engine for a four cylinder. It certainly is not a replacement for the likes of Audi, BMW, or Porsche. It remains to be seen if HHR's will stand the test of time for me.

Of course if I had not been married to a millsotne I may have purchased something with a little more sport and less ultilitarian. So Instead I opted for something easy, different, and cheap. I will now wait for the Volt to come out in 2010. Hopefully my wife will be looking for a new vehicle by then.:woot2:

I'll likely be looking into the Jetta Sportwagon TDI eventually as a replacement for my girlfriend's 95 Accord. That'll be some time down the line though. I'm sure she'd rather the money go towards her Master's. :p

Right now my car is paid for and I really dont want to add to the bills But, New M3 would look great in my garage!

I was looking into a used 02 viper GTS

Used Porsche Turbo

Used C5-Z06

Right now I have a 2005 Acura TL with pretty much all the bells ,and whistles. My warranty expired, and I'm going past the 70k mark and I have yet to experience any problems yet.

My car should be paid off within 2 more years (financed 60 months @ 4.25% rate), and I'm most likely going to drive this car till it falls apart. I love my car, and I try to make it look it's best as if it was a garage queen.

The only bad part about the car is paying for premium gas, however I'm still getting 23mpg+ for city, and I pushed up to 34mpg during hwy driving.

If I had to buy another car... I would stick with a Honda brand and probably look into a Hybrid. IMO.. today it's all about MPG, not HP!

I doubt I'll be getting rid of mine any time soon, but I've been longing for an '08 Volvo V50 T5 AWD. We'll see what happens in the next couple years.

An M3/335i!!! Still trying to figure out if the M3 E46 will be a worth while upgrade from a G35C...

You're still trying to figure out if an E46 M3 is a worthwhile upgrade from a G35 :har: :har: :har:

They aren't even on the same planet. The S54 I6 feautred in the M3 is one of the best engines BMW has ever made, in one of the best driving cars out there. Not to mention the fact that it looks far better than the G35. The G35 is an excellent car for sure, but there really is no comparison between the two, beyond the fact that they're both RWD, 2-doors, and 6 cylinders. Maybe I'm a bit biased...

My IS350 is only about 4 months old, but I made the mistake of driving an IS-F and will probably buy one next spring. The 306 ponies felt good (in mine) until I drove the 416hp IS-F... I'm ruined.

I bet most people will love the sculpted flanks of the new Audis, but I'm *still* Mr. Darkages when it comes to their styling...they keep going farther and farther from what I want Audis to look like :sadpace: Oh well, they're selling plenty of 'em without my business!

Having been without a 9C1 Caprice for a while now, and having done my most recent training in Crown Vics, I've really got an itch to buy a newish P71 for a beater :o Sheesh, just what I need...another used cop car that'll need a $zillion spent on upgrades!

I really like the look of the new Audis, the A5 is really something else, the A4 looks great too. IMO the older Audis were kind of dull, didn't have a really distinctive look, now they look great.
