LOL, calm down JohnN. Follow your own advice. Don't make this out to be something that's really important in life. It's just autodetailing.

This thread is really cracking me up! Good one puter!

No WAY man - he's breakin' on the YOO-HOO BUNNY!

The animal that's brought us sooooo much chocolatey-goodness!

(Dairy and nutrition free I might add)

:p

Just curious - wasn't it the Nestle's Quik bunny? Thought Yoo-hoo didn't have an animal on it...

Yeah, the Quik bunny!

But my question was still a mostly serious one. Perhaps my attempt at lightening humor was too overstated and spoiled the message.

Response to original question?

Well, it appears that both myself and another user on the forum found the joke to be in poor taste. I think the Zaino brand is under enough criticism already and your latest comment almost seems to be part of it.

Incidentally - there is no Mr. Klasse - so I can't poke fun at him too - but if there was one, I'd imagine him to look something like this:

Frink-Third_Dimension.jpg

Lookin' mighty pissed about the whole Klasse Hazing debate :)

Well, I'm very sorry to hear that the two of you found the comments to be in poor taste.

Now - by poor taste - did I offend someone specifically? Did I make a comment that someone found either rude, or inappropriate?

Regarding comments about Zaino - I think if you'll take a look at my posts - I've never said a WORD about the quality of Zaino's products - since I've never tried them. I made one reference, which you were quick to jump on - regarding the fact that I MYSELF have never bought them, because they were not available online.

Sorry that free speech hurts you so badly - but considering I neither insulted the man (can't - I don't know him) nor put down his products, I don't believe I owe anyone an apology.

In case we're wondering how we ever got there, here's InterMezzo's message a few replies back:

Guess we're just a bunch of Aquapeliacs...right JohnN?</blockquote>
This was a reference back to an older thread, which I thought we'd put to bed already. Apparently not.

If you want someone from Klasse to criticize, try Bob Faragasso. I can give you his phone number when I get home.

Why criticize at all? Why not just discuss detailing in our usual pleasant Autopian manner?

Puterbum,

Just let it go. I think he's made enough of an a s s out of himself, not only here in the forum but also in the chat. He likes to play innocent. No need to drag yourself down to his level.

Loved the stuff at first - as time went by, was just impressed by it. Not that it's a bad rain repellent - but I guess it's a case of high expectations - read a lot about the product, thought it would repel water a bit better than it did.

That said - for me, durability will be a key indicator of how much I like it - it's supposed to last for 6 months or so - if I get that much time (or more) out of it - I'll be very happy with it. I wasn't totally displeased with Rain-X, or with Klasse SG on the windshield. The main thing I disliked (in addition to some mild smearing) was the fact that I had to keep applying those - and you know how that works - you're normally out in the rain somewhere when you find that it was time to reapply the stuff :(

Aquapel is NOT supposed to last 6 months. It lasts around 3-4 months. If you use your wipers often it will degrade the coating quicker.

Been quiet on the boards this past few weeks and have put detailing on hold for a while, in part due to winter and in part because I was working on longtime goal of mine.

On Saturday I competed in my very first powerlifting championship in hopes to break the world record for my division and I am happy to say I did it!

Since July I have been training specifically for this day and I couldnt be happier that its over with, the last few weeks have been very stressful dealing with some minor injuries and getting my head right for the meet. I havent booked any new cars or even washed my own car because I couldnt risk aggravating my back or neck in any way this close to the competition.... lengthy paint correction details and washing cars in freezing temps tend to do this a lotBoo Hoo

The record was held at 387lbs and I need 389 to break it, my real goal however was to be the first 165lb. Teen to hit 400 and on my last attempt thats what I went for.

My brother Mike was cheering me on in the front row and got videos of the lifts.

Time to rest up a little and get back to detailing :D

I've been wondering why you haven't posted in a while. I don't post much but my constant lurking has led me to become pretty familiar with who is posting and who isn't and I have to say your posts are some of my favorites as your skill set is fantastic.

Congrats on the record!

Super impressive!!!! at my best and not a teenager, also I weighed 245 I did 405lb back in the nineties............this will put into perspective just how strong Dave is right now.

Great job!!!!.

David,

Good job man! Congratulations on the world record! That is quote an accomplishment. I have missed your work in the boards and now I see where you have been spending you time.

All the best and keep up the good work.

Jeff

That is fantastic. Congratulations. You looked smooth with no hesitations on the 400lb bench. Very nice. I didn't know you trained but thought that you must, since you have the look. I know very well the dedication it takes. I trained 6 days a week for a year before I won the state bodybuilding title many years ago. I'm 67 now, but at 62 I got my squat back up to 400 after a 2 year layoff from injury's. My best squat was 600 for 2, bench 405 ( 5'8"/205 body weight ) but you can probably beat that now at 165 lbs.

Again very impressive the way you handled 400 in the video. By the way you handled the weight you could have probable got 405 but it wouldn't have been worth the risk on your last attempt since as it is you set a record.
