There is no cure!
i have a thick beard that NEEDS to be shaved daily. ive used the mach3 blades but after about a week of shaving my face gets irritaded and causes me to break out. i dont shave againts the grain, but rather i shave in the direction of the hair. ive switched a couple times with the sensor excel a couple times but i get the same irritation. have tried many different shaving creams but like i said, after a while i just need something new.

ive recently been using an electric shaver on my face and the mach3 on my neck. the machine really destroys my neck if i use it there.

what are u guys, some ladys (lol) using?

pesonally use a mach 3 turbo with a gel shaving cream. I'm with you on the electrics and loads of irritation on my neck. I used an electric a couple years back and your skin will get used to the lift cut action, but i still prefer the good old blade.

I shave everyday. I use a Mach 3 or Mach 3 Turbo(not sure which) with Edge Advanced Gel Ultra Sensitive then I wash my face and neck with St Ives Apricot Scrub Gentle Sensitive Skin and then lastly I use Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture Sensitive Skin on my face and neck.

Hey, I was just thinking about starting a thread like this today. Odd....

I turn 30 in a couple months and I still don't have a whole lot to shave. If I go 3 days without shaving then I've got a respectable patchy 5 o'clock shadow, but that's about it. It's probably the main thing that makes me look 10 years younger than I am. You won't find me complaining about it though. When I do have to whip out the blade I'm using a Mach III blade. I've got an el cheapo Norelco that I use when being super smooth isn't necessary, but the lady likes a smooth face, so I pull out the blade for occasions when it is required. :naughty

I use the Mach 3 With Edge Shaving gel. I then Put alcohol on my my face then after 20 sec i put this on. it helps keep my face smooth & i can feel it working. Im looking for the Galllon of it.

I use a Mach 3 turbo. I have used various shaving creams & gels, but I find the ones for sensitive skin or that contain aloe work best for me.

Also, I shave in the shower. I find the steam from the shower softens my stubble and makes it easier to shave off. It also seems to prevent the shaving cream or gel from drying out and losing its lubricating properties.

I use a Mach 3 turbo with Neutrogena Men skin clearing shave cream. This stuff helps reducebreak outs after shaving,........its pretty good. When I am done shaving I put on some Nivea for men mild after shave balm. I find this to be a great combo. These products are a little more expensive though.

I shave everyday or need to. I use the Gillette Sensor Excel razor and Edge shaving cream. I too shave in the shower. I wash my face firsrt rinse then apply the saving cream.

that's what i do, alot less mess to also, everything goes down the drain. because of my job i only have to shave once a week or so(more for my wife who hates facial hair) i use a twin blade in the shower. Jngrbrdman, i envy you. i hate shaving.

I also shave in the shower. I do not use any creams while in the shower. I use the hot water from the shower head directly onto the area that I am shaving. I use the a generic two blade system with the white lubriplate. The lubriplate is quite effective. Without the lubriplate i get stubble burn on my face often. When finished, I use an after shave that my wife picks out. Love the burn. She loves the smell. Hence, I use it often.

When away from the wife I shave once a week. When home, with the family, it is an everyday occasion. Hate shaving everyday but love being home. I guess we all have trade off's.

are you guys shaving againt the grain or the direction of the hairs growth? if i shave againt the grain i get massive irritation.

the problem with my face is that im still 19. i hae loads of facial hair, tons, but my skin is still really soft ad sensitive. how do u guys shave in the shower without a mirror?

I use a Norelco. It works great since I'm a black man. A black man's hair is curly, and when cut close to the skin, it can curl back under the skin as it grows. This is due to the razor-edge sharpness of the hair. The result is painful, bloody bumps.

Since I've been using an electric shaver (since 1987), I've had no more bumps. I can't explain how electric shavers prevent the curling action. I'm just glad it does.

I finish off with a range of after shaves, depending on my mood.

Tip on using after shave:
Wait a few minutes before applying.....this will lessen the "sting"
Mug, brush and shaving soap man....I have 40 plus years of shaving experience.......lol

Oh fellas, this is not an ad or anything, but QVC has a Panasonic wet/dry electric shaver on sale today only as its "Today's Special Value".

Here's the link, but it may not work after today:

I saw a model use it on week's growth of beard. But I was not really impressed with its performance. But that's just me. He was done in less than 2 minutes, and he wasn't using a mirror. (Thus, he missed a couple of spots.)

I close my eyes and use the braille method. Feeling where the facial hair remains. When finished in the shower I go to the mirror to finish the final trim.

I do that, too. This is a VERY EFFECTIVE way to make sure you get your entire beard clean. (But cwcad, you doesn't REALLY has ta close your eyes!) :clown:

Oh, but I don't (can't) shave in the shower with my shaver.

For all you hairy dudes shaving in the shower, don't forget to shave your back! Back hair is not smooth with the ladies.

Um, I - Um,

Oh nevermind. It's best if I don't know...
