this is my exact routine, i go back and forth with the neutrogena and gel with aloe for sensitive skin, i also shave after showering so it softens up the beard and ads moisture, but no matter what i use i still have irritated skin .for me its better to against the grain, it creates less drag and irrritation on the face.

Thats cool man. I go against the grain as well. Otherwise my face wont be smooth,.........and the ladies like it smooooooooth. I shave every 5 days or so when I start to look like a bum lol. I am glad I dont have to shave everyday or every other day,........it would drive me crazy.

Unrelated, I tried the shick quattro or whatever its called. I didnt like it because it clogged with hair and it wouldnt wash out. I am stick with the Mach 3 turbo for now unless something better comes out.

I close my eyes and use the braille method. Feeling where the facial hair remains. When finished in the shower I go to the mirror to finish the final trim.

That's how I do things, and I can get away with shaving every other day. I go over my whole face 'with the grain' and then 'against the grain' using much less pressure and lifting the razor handle to a higher angle. It seems like the front blade gets dull much quicker and by lifting the handle it brings the rear blade more into play.

For all you hairy dudes shaving in the shower, don't forget to shave your back! Back hair is not smooth with the ladies.

the razors are like detail products it is a matter of joice and what you prefer. i also use the mach 3 turbo, what kills me :nutkick is buying the replacemant blades there expensive and i don't use any blade more then 3 x but i only shave every other day or so.
