The time has come!

Update:

The car is ready to be picked up tonight. The bummer? It's getting picked up tomorrow while I'm at school.

The story: It ended up being an internal problem in the alternator. They tried to send it to a very reputable alternator shop down here (Browning's) but they wouldn't rebuild it. So, they ordered and installed a completely new one. He drove it for another 50-60 miles, and everything worked excellently.

Steve, I asked him a few days ago to check for the PS pump leak. There wasn't any sign of it according to him. Everything there was great.

So, after seeing the detail area of this dealer scrubbing an Explorer with a huge brush, I'm scared as hell. But, to make my self feel better about it, I'm telling myself "The car has done fine for 10 years, it'll be ok. You can make it better this weekend."

BTW, The owner of the dealership is sending his Pantera and C3 Covette coupe off to auction. With my Lexus crying at me from behind the detail area's fence, and the 2 red coupes right in front, it was a semi-beautiful moment.

Awesome! How exciting. Couldn't you ask not to have it detailer or is this the same guy that won't sell a dirty car? Or is it possible for you to supervise the detail?

Carl- same guy who just won't sell a dirty car, and she is dirty. The factory chrome wheels aren't caked with brake dust, but they're dirty enough that they look dull.

I wish I could supervise, but the guys doing it are:

A) much bigger than me, and wouldn't wanna take crap from me.

B) I don't wanna be rude to the dealer. If it was a new car, they sure as hell wouldn't be touching it, but I'll tolerate it this once.

Here' a sneak peak at what's to come:

Here she is, locked up.

Dammit, this always happens with my Sprint account. It's only a camera phone picture. If I can't get this sucker to work, I promise more tomorrow :)

I can get into your account but the pictures are too small to see anything with, LOL.

I guess that's what I get for expecting something good from my phone :(

But, I did say "sneak peak". My excuse for poor quality pics: Just a teaser picture! :p

My Dad surprised me and brought it home early tonight. It's sitting in my driveway as I type this. I found a new respect for him today. He actually stopped the guys mid-wash to save her from the brsuh of death. Now my window has some sort of film on it.

She runs perfectly. The only thing we noticed was a little hesitation in early acceleration. Dad thinks it might be a firing problem so it might make a trip to the local speed shop to get some tests run. Other than that, 1 or 2 runs to 100-110 were smooth and fun.

If weather permits, this weekend will be lots of fun :D

I didn't do it. My instigating father did. I didn't mention that he also tried to race a 5.0 Mustang. It sounded slightly modded. I told him he'd have his as* handed to him, and he's lucky the 'Stang shrugged him off.

Like I said before, I may be spoiled and very fotunate, but I would never abuse my priveledges like that. If dad's in the car an gives me the go-ahead, that might be different. But I don't see that happening for a while and I'm not gonna bring it up if he doesn't. Pics tomorrow if I can. They'll be in the afternoon because I need to wait for dad to get home from work.

G.A., just for the record, and now that you have two cars, how long until you get your driver's license?

I don't have two cars. I don't have one car. My parents own 6. One was bought for me to drive, but it's not allowed to be driven to school- rule made by parents. Their rule is that I drive the Jeep to school.

License comes at 16 and 3, and I'm 15 an 2. Permit comes at 15 and 6. I'll be able to drive my parent home the last week of school this year.

This isn't going to become a "make fun of a spoiled kid" thread, is it? I'd hoped that I had gotten it across, I'm a very fortunate kid, and I'm very grateful for everything I have. I would have gladly driven a Geo Metro if that was my only option, but I had some input in the matter. We just happened to find a good deal.
