The New Z8 is Out!

I used Z8 this afternoon for the first time on my Magnetic Red C6. And I like it. I tend to agree with the others about the added depth it adds to the finnish. It also seems to bounce and bead on the surface when spritzing it on. And the smell... it sort of smells like pears.

not really, sounds like most user barely tried it once and already alot of excitement.

Sounds like a great product, i'm going to try and pick up some.

:nixweiss If you look at anything, and it is a giant improvement, how long do you have to see it before you recognize it? I used the Z8 yesterday, and it was such a jump in appearance I recognized it right off- call me a prodigy or something ! LMAO !Today, the shine is intensified if anything, and guess what? I drove it through rain ! It still rocks. BTW, It shed road dirt/mud like crazy !

:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I think something special was slipped in on us, kinda slyly !

Thanks Sal !:bounce

Well its been almost a week since my Z8 came in, every morning I get up use my calf. duster then Z8. It actually looks like I detail my car every day.

Uhm... apparently you DO detail your car everyday so I would hope it looks that way. ;)

This is my first post.

I have used Zaino for the past 4 years. I liked the product because of how long it lasted between applications. In all honesty when I went to a car show with my car, 1934 Ford Streedrod, it looked good but about the same as all the other "waxed" cars.

I just put on three coats of Z2 pro followed by the Z8. WOW!!! it is so super slick and shiny. What an improvement.

I then used it on my daily driver, 2001 Corvette, and it never looked so good.

The Z8 is really worth the difference. My only complaint is the spray bottle just did not spray a fine enough spray.

If I may be so bold, I have to ask:

What "prep" did you (if any) do before Zaino? No paint finish is going to look its best unless it has been properly and completely prepared for the Sealant/LSP. Zaino can make cars look 'good' with no prep, but they'll look GREAT with proper preparation.

THAT is the difference. No product on the face of this planet can by itself make a paint finish truly perfect/great. There are way too many other factors which play into success.

Welcome to Autopia! :wavey

I did the complete Zaino suggested prep.

Dawn

Clay

Etc.

When I first started I used Z1 then swithced to ZFX when it was introduced

The 34 Ford has a real good paint job and looked good with the Zaino treatment, but next to a "waxed" car it looked about the same. I am sure the guy who waxed his car probably waxed every two weeks. I did the Zaino treatment every 6 months. Just washing with Z7 and using Z6 in between treatments.

The new Z8 makes the finish WOW!!! The reason I posted is to let everyone know, it really does work.

Thanks for the welcome. You can see I have lurked for a long time.

well OK, there's your problem then. The Zaino suggested prep steers users away from doing anything outside the zaino product line. You absolutely MUST clean and polish the paint with abrasive products to remove any defects and bring out a deep wet gloss, and THEN apply the Zaino. While they claim to be "show car polish" they're merely a polymer sealant. Complete and proper prep should include other specialized products to get the surface ready.

I'm sure you'll find out what I mean if you start reading some more posts. :xyxthumbs

Trust me, the 1934 Ford finish was ready. It was made surface ready with 3m products with no swirls and a real smooth clear coat.

I have a PC 7424 and use Finess on the Vette. I left that part of the prep out because I replied about what Zaino process I used.

Bottom line is that Z8 is a real product that makes a difference.

Ok, I probablt shouldn't ask this question, but is it comparable to the Menzerna FMJ and Acrylic Spritz combo? Is it as good, better, worse? Totally diferrent? Because that is what I have and what I would be able to compare it to. That combo, for me, is incredible. If there is something that is comparable, or better, then I am interested... Please, no flames, I am just curious.

I have this horrible habbit of buying a lot of supplies... lol :D If this is that good, it may be next...

I found 2 ounce spray bottles at (Rite Aid) a drugstore. It sprayed the perfect amount of Z8 on the car. (I also tried a lazy way to apply Z8 with a cordless polisher and a foam pad. Worked great... I used less than an oz on a mid-size car. ):xyxthumbs

I would hardly call a 5 min. wipe down a detail, but your right in a sense the new Z8 fells like a complete detail .

Comparing it to FMJ. I have both. I think FMj is slightly brighter but Zaino is clearer and crisper. I love both, but thet do have different looks. If I didn't have Zaino I would use FMJ.

1&2 IMHO

Hi 05Sleeper,

I have the FMJ/AS products on my shelf, but have not yet had time to open my Z8 box. I can let you know this weekend perhaps. I'm interested in seeing how they look as well.

Also, my FMJ vs. FMJ/FTG vs. SG durability test is still going. SG and FMJ are still going pretty well, but I think the FMJ/FTG is starting to bead less after 1 month of sitting outside 24/7. I bet Acrylic Spritz would give it a huge boost.

The first detail of the year on my old 69 Pontiac. I put one app of the new Z2 and a final of the new Z8. I can't tell what the difference is exactly, but it does look good!! When the wife came home and looked at the car in the driveway, she asked me what I did :) The ultimate check! She said it looked like a new paint job. The car is 26 years old and the paint is 13 years old.

Hats off to Zaino for another super addition to there prodect line!

That's the real proof, old paint ! I have had very similar reactions on the "new" paint on a 12 y/o car. To me, thats the real test of a product ! Bringing life to old paint jobs ! That is why I am very pleased with the Z8's performance.:xyxthumbs

I just finished using Z8 on two of my cars. Both have one coat of Z2 (not Pro) put on them in Nov. 04 and both sit outside 24/7. On my Gray Mazda 3 it looks very good and seems to add some slickness and shine back to the paint. On my wife's world rally blue WRX, it was a huge difference. The paint seems to have a great deal of added "pop". I wish that car was not so badly swirled from her snow brush.

One last note, it is difficult to adjust the bottle spray to get a fine mist.

Hey Setec, I forgot my calculator:) It's more like 36 years old. Now I'm feeling old! I did put another misting of Z8 on last night and it looks better! Got to love Zaino!
