This S2000 came to me as a referral from a corvette client. I met with the owner to discuss the options. The owner didn't think the swirls were bad, but unfortunately, they were quite bad. Fortunately honda's paint is pretty soft as are their clears. This particular car was single stage paint suprisingly. We agreed on a 1 step correction, aiming for about 60% removal and followed by a couple coats of Zaino.
I began to work on it, and after about 1/2 hour of trying different combos, I found an aweome combo that got about 90% of the swirls out! Owner was very happy he opted for at least some correction after seeing the progress. The gloss after the paint correction and the Zaino was very nice and super smooth. After getting the pics off the camera, I noticed a kinda fog in the lower right of all the pics. Turns out I had a fingerprint on the lens. doh!
Process:
Exterior
-Foamed with Dawn
-Rinsed and Dawn wash
-Megs APC 4:1 on wheels/tires
-Daytona EZ detail brush
-EZ detail mini brush
-Swissvax Wheel brush
-Clayed with Z18 and Megs LT as lube
-Tires with Zaino Z16
Correction
-Megs 205 on white LC 5.5
LSP
-2 coats of Zaino Z5pro
-Zaino Z6
Starting to see what I'm up against? Bad huh? Couldn't get much worse.......... could it?
Wow, surely that is as bad as it gets right? Nope.
50/50 shot under my Brinkman dual LED Xenon light
50/50 shots in the sun. Not finished product, but getting close. Not bad for just a 1 step correction!
finished pics after a couple coats of Z5pro and Z6.
I love that gloss!
