Selling my Beloved Bimmer

I have black buckets. I use only black buckets since they absorb more heat from the sun and keep the water warmer for my delicate hands. (Believe that, anyone? Ha!)



Seriously, I only shampoo my cars every two or three washes so I don't use buckets that often. I find it much safer not to. I prefer to use a constant stream of water against my mitt as I glide over the surface of the panels. I also use two mitts for every wash. One mitt is my "clean mitt" that never goes below the beltline of the car. My "dirty mitt" is for the lower panels that are more likely to have scratch causing debris on them. I rinse the mitt often. I use them maybe twice and wash them in the washing machine.
 
I have 2 buckets. My wash solution Bucket is white and I bought it at K-Mart. The Rinse Bucket is Orange and I bought it at Home Depot.



The white bucket is a tad beat up because I accidentally ran it over with the Navigator. :D
 
I get my white buckets (I have a dozen or so) from King Soopers... 5 gallon buckets with lids. Just have to clean the frosting out - YUCK, I can't believe people eat that stuff. :eek:



Just go to the donut shop later in the afternoon and ask for some.... some days you won't get any, but others you can get offered more than 6.

:p ............this is the kind of topis that only come up in the winter doods..........but its cool..........as usal ron great gadget.....and i knew steve would work in his foam dispenser thingy....but steve you usually post a pic with it............what happened dood...;) i got a dark blu 5gal and a light blue 5gal...for the washings....the mitts never touch the bottom and like putey put put...i rinse it with the hose like crazyas im doing it....ive never seen the white ones but the clear container things that SRL brought up sounds cool...i know i have some of those around here somewhere:)
 
My mitts float when I lay them in the bucket? I've never left them in there long, usually lay them across the edge...
 
In production shops such as our AutoPreservation shops, in large volume dealerships, most use a 9 X 9 mitt, with no cuff.



These hold one hell of a large amount of product and will settle to the bottom of the bucket while the employee is doing other things in the wet bay.



That is why we came up with the screen at the bottom of the bucket.



See, he washes one, does a quick drying and it moves to a detail bay, b/s's with the dry bay detailer for a couple of minutes and go gets another vehicle and moves it to the wet bay, so there is 5 to 15 minutes before he is back using the mitt again.



The main shop will process 100+ a day, the smaller shops of ours will do 25 to 50 a day.

I've been wanting that Griots bucket for a long time. But when you add in the casters and the lid along with shipping you're over $80.00. Too much for a wash bucket. But it is awesome.
 
That Griots bucket, like almost everything else from them is a rip off. Go to Smart and Final and pick up a food storage container with about the same dimensions, for about 5-10 bucks. You can get them in clear, or white.

In fact a big rubbermaid container would do the job. Pick up a few casters from Home Depot. Then you're set.
 
Yea I have the griots one, I love it!( I didnt buy it;)) And I just got the casters for it for x mas:) i wish it was red to match the garage better:(
 
I bought 2 of my buckets from Home Depot and have added 2 more to my collection after painting my house. You wouldn't believe how crazy my wife thinks I am...
 
My co-workers just bought me an amazing handy mobile bucket. They all know what a devoted detailer I am (plus I did a few of their cars for free). It's got a nice deep tray for a lid (to keep all my detailing stuff) and is shaped sort of like the Griot's bucket. Oh, and it's made of clear plastic which would make it easy to see the dirt at the bottom. Can't wait to try it out!

Guess, yes, they are the greatest. In fact, we just did a sub-group buy here at the office of Puterbums neatimes group buy. The towels were great...too great in fact. I think some of them are jostling a bit because they want more than what they initally ordered.



I wish I could post a pic of the bucket, but I don't have a digital camera yet.



As for the extra details... I only give one free detail to each co-worker. After that I charge :)
 
As many of you know, I have been out of work for quite some time now. Although my detailing jobs have picked up recently, it is just not enough to keep us going. Unfortunately, I have to sell my bimmer because we just can't afford the payments anymore.

The reason for this post is not for your sympathy, but advise on how to go about getting top dollor for it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
