S100 Longevity

I am having a strong disagreement with another Autopian about S100.

How long is S100 lasting you guys on average?

it depends but on average ~ 1 month:nixweiss ..i get more because i garage nightly, wash weekly, and quick detail maybe twice a week even thought i do wax once a month. :xyxthumbs

I gave mine away to wifehatescar. It looks nice and is easy to use, but seriously, Id rather use #16 and have double or triple the durability than use s100 again.

That wasn't my question. I wanted to know how long it is lasting other people.

hrmm it's weird how some people complain of meguiar's NXT only lasting 2-4 weeks but if it's s100 nobody seems to care?

Expectations are much, much higher for sealants. Sealants like NXT and wolfgang outlast most carnaubas but can't seem to meet the durability standards set by zaino and klasse.

Well I only get a month in Australia, but that because I used to re-wax every month. It was still beading like a madman after a month so Id expect it to last somewhat longer. I was just QEW once a week.

At least 6 weeks even in 90 degree weather. It is still beading after this time but I can't wait any longer to reapply because I have this disease.....

P21S / S100 are formulated from Carnauba wax (melting point180oF) and Beeswax (melting point 145oF) it generally lasts here (Florida) for a month-six weeks

Carnauba Wax evaporates over time (dependant upon ambient temperatures), which limits its durability. As a general rule-of-thumb: 50% after 30 days, 75% is gone after 60 days and after 90 days it should be reapplied.

‘How are the mighty fallen’ NXT was the wax de jour now the time has come (for some anyway) to ‘shoot it down’ for whatever reason.

~Hope this helps~

As long as the surface is washed weekly after applying 1 coat, I'd say about 4-6 weeks. Florida weather is very brutal to a detailer's work of art.

I would say I'm getting 6-8 weeks in Atlanta summer heat. I keep it in my garage or under my parking deck at work for all but approx. 6 hours.

I love the stuff. I think the trade-off is that you wax a bit more frequently than some other products but it is real easy to apply. I have not found the durability to be shorter than other products in my experience though.
