S100 Longevity

Certain QD's can help to extend life to carnaubas.

certain ones that contains carnauba in it? kinda like turtle wax ultra gloss premium QD?

i heard that some QD's don't contain anything like meguiars quik detail or eagle one wipe and shine.

the reason i ask is because i have all of those and im curious if the turtle wax one that has a bit of carnauba, which would be better to use on my cars that is waxed with carnuaba, than the other QD's?

Just wanted to give an update on my experience w/ S100.

I applied one coat on my mom's Yukon on May 24th, so it has been 6 1/2 weeks and it is still beading well. Maybe it has to do with the AIO base.?.

Oh boy oh boy. Zane, not trying to flame you my friend, just using your quote as an example. But this right here is the fundamental problem with product testing on autopia. Mixing and matching a million and one products is all fine and good, we are enthusiasts after all. But there is no way of ascertaining the true durability of a product by doing this. And even worse, half the people on this board who respond to these types of threads claiming 'excellent!' durability fail to mention 'trivial' details to the rest of us. Details like, 'did I mention, I have it applied over zaino', lol. Come on guys, let's get serious here.

When someone tells me that they're getting 10 weeks durability out of said wax, it makes me wonder what they have under it, or what other high maintenance regimen they are using on the wax. Like the guy in the other thread who said he was getting 3 months of excellent durability out of WG, but then added that he usues WAUD after every wash. I mean, come on!

And people wonder why I get frustrated. Are those of you who were puzzled by my frustration starting to understand where I'm coming from now?

Bill. :) :up

Well, I was wondering about this very thing. I just applied S100 over 4 coats of Zaino today. How am I supposed to know how long the S100 lasts? The car will be beading for at least 6 months with or without S100 because of the Zaino.

Is there some way to tell for sure when the wax is gone? If not, I'll just add a coat of S100 every other month.

Do it every month, it is fun!

My Klasse 2x and S100(every 4 weeks, or so) is now 7 months (Black Car) and beading like crazy.

In my shop, we care about longevity, because we want clients to still be smiling (and thinking of us) in 3 - 4 months, but...

You really don't care when the wax is gone, do you? I'll bet you just like that phenomenal finish.

Waxing allows you to bond with your car... Keep it up!

GUys,

I think you might have forgotten 1 important point.

The durability of S100 depends on what you layer it on.

I layer it onto NXT and get about 3weeks of respectable water beading and gloss.

If I layer it into No 7 Glaze, I get approx 4weeks of water beading.

I strongly feel that S100 is best layered on top of its own S100 Cleanser/POlish for optimum results. I did a panel based on this and it lasted 5weeks with respectable water beading in a very hot and humid environment.

Hee hee. You're right. S100 is the easiest carnauba wax I've ever used, so it's not going to cause any strain to keep a nice coat on the car.

loco,

In this instance, you will not truly know how long the s100 will last. When attempting to measure durability, we need to measure a product solely on its own merit.

In future, if anyone does post their durability results with a product, please do let us know all the details (ex. zaino is sitting underneath). This will help all of us to better determine the true merit of a product.

Thank you.

Bill.

I realize what you are saying and that's why I mentioned it. I guess my test isn't the most scientific or accurate...:(
