Luckily most motorcycle dealership sales guys I've dealt with have shown me they take a lot of pride in their jobs. Even when I go for an oil change I'll end up looking at other motorcycles and usually end up learning something new.
I wonder if motorcycle salesmen are more "bike guys" than (most) car salesmen are "car guys". Like...most American males thinks they know from cars and if a guy has the right disposition he'll think he can be a salesman, so any guy who can sell stuff will believe he can be a car salesman. But to sell motorcycles I'd think you have to really *KNOW* what's what and only serious enthusiasts think they qualify.
