opti-seal is here...

I talked to Dave at Optimum today. He says the first production batch will be made, labeled and shipped out to distributors on Monday.

great. you have been using it for a while now Scott. seems as though you really like it :xyxthumbs. for MB silver paint, what would you use on top? i am ordering some OC to correct some scratches and swirls.

Yes it should be ready to be shipped out next week. I designed the labels so I hope they look good:nervous2:

I'm anxious to see and hear about results from others in regards to application, looks and durability.

I can't wait to hear the results! :)

I can't speak to the longevity of Opti-Seal as I only had it applied to my car less than a week ago. That said, I can clearly speak to it's looks. I had my car detailed by a local pro who had a sample of the Opti-Seal that was then put on my car.

I've got to say, I am seriously thinking about sending back the brand new jar of Natty's Blue wax that I purchased. This stuff really adds a nice slick look with some depth. I'm not really sure that I want or need to top it off with a Carnauba. This is all on a Nighthawk Black 2007 Honda Accord.

It has since rained in my area and the water was beading like crazy let me tell you. From what I know and see now, I highly recommend this product. To be honest with you, I probably won't be the best person to ask about this products longevity as I plan on putting it on every couple of months or so because it is so easy to do and gives such a wonderful look.

I already have mine pre-ordered. Can't wait for it to get here so that I can put on a second coat :)

Hey Scott, did you ever try the Zaino CS?

I have it and wasn't impressed with it so I was wondering if the Opti-Seal would be a better alternative.

Yep, read his older posts, he has used both and seems to have found the OS a better alternative to CS, as you mentioned.

8 ounces for $25? Ouch.

It sounds like a lot of money but for how much you use it is penny's per application.

175 to 200 pumps = 1oz. You would spray 20 to 25 times tops per application.

And you get 2 applicators per bottle.

Actually I've found that I can do a sports size car, like a Porsche 911, in as little as 10 pumps. Most likely new users may use more because I was using WAY TOO much product during the beta testing.

So at 10 to 15 pumps per car, 1 ounce will cover all of Jay Leno's cars:grinno:

I do have a question. I pre-ordered the Opti-Seal, and I do know that it comes with two foam applicator pads.

Once you use a foam applicator pad to apply the Opti-Seal, can they be used again, or is it suggested to only use the applicator once?

I have used the same applicator for 4 cars. Just use it and then place it in a zip lock baggie. It will become over saturated if used on several cars at once so a back up sponge may then be needed.

To clean the applicator use some dishwashing soap and hand wash them and allow them to dry completely before using again. I personally toss the sponges into my plush towel wash cycle and take care of them that way. I then attach them to my truck antenna with a clothes pin and drive around the block a few times so they dry nicely:rofl

I just ordered OS and can't wait to try out and compare to CS. I am so impressed with the optimum polishes that I gave my sister's BF my poorboy polishes so maybe he will soon have some CS on it's way. Mike...
