Old School Autopian Check In !!!

Hmmmmmm.... Could be. This looks more like my DC start date. Of course, The Fuzz is older than that. ;) Ahhhhhh... Good memories. My son actually dressed as The Fuzz for Halloween a couple years ago. So funny!

Jngrbrdman- Hey, good to see you posting here! What`re you driving these days?

Brand B.- Good to see you`re still around too :D

I still come here and do a lot of searching to see what new MF`s I can`t live without, what new goodies Accumulator has accumulated and what Setec has added to his "unused product bin."

I`m still using up a lot of my old products and giving some away to my nephew, although I did just buy some more ONR. I`m not nearly as picky on OPF`s (other peoples finishes) as I used to be, I figure if they can live with (and neglect) it as a daily driver then a wash and wax will make them as happy as a clam anyway.

Wish I could say it was something cooler than this, but it is just an `09 Rav4 V6. I do have to say that I love this thing. Because it doesn`t have a spare tire taking up room in the back, I can just lift in my whole pad washer cart without disassembling it. I can actually fit everything I need for a long day of detailing and not even lose any space in my back seat. Try as I might, I can`t find a darn thing to complain about with this car. :)

This is pretty much what I do but then again, I have always taken a more passive role on this forum ever since I joined. Simply put, I always had more to learn than to share so I usually would just read. ....and every once in a while, do a little posting before hibernating again. ;)

Honestly though, I have learned so much from so many on this forum over the years. Autopia has always been my main source for research when I need a recommendation on a tool, product, technique or just to catch up on what`s new.

Eliot Ness- Wow, this is really turning into an old-timer`s reunion! Thanks for letting us know you`re still around. Heh heh, I`m not accumulating as much stuff these days, more like trying to use up some of what I already have :D

Jngrbrdman- Hey, if that Rav4 does it for you, that`s all that counts IMO. Bet it`s pretty easy to keep nice...the color and all.

Hey David,

Bob here. I retired in January but still like to keep my hand in... So, I`ve been using the Bosch GET65-5N Dual-Mode Random Orbit Sander - Short review: It spins the right direction in forced rotation - the same as the rotary. I know a lot of detailers have abandoned the rotary but for those of us who started out with Sioux polishers and still like to cut with some enthusiasm it`s nice to have a machine that lets us use all that muscle memory we`ve developed over the years. This machine runs smoother than other forced rotation machines because the orbit is enough to eliminate the swirl but not so much that it kicks back a lot of vibration. Also, it has plenty of RPMS to get work done.

If you reply back, do me a favor and share what compounds and polishes you like with foam pad.

All the best.

I don`t even remember the last time I was here. So busy working, riding, got married a couple years ago, just moved as well. Lots of trips between Arlington and Arizona and to Cincinnati where both my kids have settled. Even to Puerto Rico where my wife is from. And so many Facebook detailing groups. Don`t even visit many of them anymore due to lack of time.

Lost my username and see that another user was able to grab it in the meantime, but I used to post as BlackSunshine from 2004-2008 or so.
