Old School Autopian Check In !!!

ZJ JIM 96- With a larger (let alone black) vechicle, I can understand the switch to BF. And I bet you *could* come up with justification for a new polisher, just time time savings alone...

I haven't been on this forum in some years. Too much work and too many kids occupying my time. I just bought a foam cannon from walmart and now I'm getting back to detailing (now that I have something fun that kids like to play with). I love using the pressure washer to get rid of most of the dirt and then foaming and sponging to get rid of the rest. Now it only takes me about 20 minutes to do one car. My oldest daughter loves the pressure washer and just loves cleaning sidewalks, paths, walls and an occasional car. My two youngest manage to get about 80% of the foam on the car with the remainder on each other. I just wish the quick connector on the foam cannon was tight on the wand as the other connectors. My collinite 476s and 845 are still good and still about half full after 7 years! Though I haven't waxed my odyssey in years, the impala ss gets it twice a year.

3puttjay- Welcome back! Yeah, Real Life has a way of interfering with the whole Detailing Thing. Nice that your kids are getting involved and I really think it's good that your oldest daughter has discovered the pressurewasher!

Thank you for the kind words Accumulator. The kids love washing the car mostly because it earns them $5 apiece and they get to blast away with the pressure washer. My oldest son likes to wax the cars if he gets to use the UDM (yes I still have one) to put on the wax. He is just now getting a drivers license and is really getting into cars. He thinks he'll get my 96 Impala SS to drive to school (dream on). I'm looking at a volvo S60 for him since he will be driving his 3 other siblings to school instead of his mother.

I still come back once in awhile to see if my login still works. ;) It shows my membership date moved forward by a few years though. I remember a 2001 date when we moved from whatever crap message board it was before vbulletin. There`s a few guys still on here that remember way back that far. 2004 definitely isn`t right because I still have saved PMs from 2002, so something got changed.

Welcome home :D

I`m an old-timer too! I don`t stop in that often either. I am member #3. I go waaaaaay back!

Welcome home :D

You know, the more places I`ve been online I have to say that this place will always be home for me. This is really the first place I spent any real time and felt like I was part of something. In fact, I`m OCDetails everywhere else, but I`ll never change my username here. I know Autopia has evolved on its own and is a totally different place than it was when I was really active here, but I am still proud to have been part of shaping it a little bit. I`m member 1034 (and now you know all my pin numbers...) and proud of it. :) Not quite Brad B. status, but I take what I can get. ;)

.......... I think we need a reunion with all the old school guys
Sounds like a plan...too bad I will not be able to make it EXCEPT by postings within this forum.

That is one great thing about this forum; though I`ve never met any of you face-to-face, it seems like I know many of you personally. I have mentioned this several times, but I think it bears repeating: I am indebted to SOOOO many of you for your posts and reviews and ideas to improve my detailing and I cannot express my sincere thanks for doing so. It is REALLY nice to see post from Autopians (nicknames) from long ago, even if you are only lerking and checking in.

Jngrbrdman, wondering if your join date was picked up as the later date of the two Autopia`s (Detail City) that have merged into this site.
