That's the bottom line on why we shine our vehicles.

Guys, please.... let's stay focused on what the test was about, not what it wasn't about.

We all have our own "bottom line". The least you can do is respect others trying to find theirs.

So I decided to do nearly the same test on our Kenmore Dryer and well.......I almost regreted doing it.

First I cleaned the top of the Dryer using a little bit of Dawn and water. Here's a shot of the Dawn.:D

I think they were just joking around, trying to lighten the mood a little ;)

I then used a black Sharpie Permanent Marker and applied six sets of lines. I set each of the products above the represented lines and took out 3 new foam pads. Here's the layout shot:

Hi Afshin,

I'm not a camera pro, but my Sony has a little button that allows me to do a white balance.

Basically, I aim the camera at something that is completely white and then hit the button. Some kind of something takes place inside the camera and it corrects for the light level in the area I shooting.

Just an idea...

Mike

I started by first applying a coat of Z1 to the appropriate line, here's how much Z1 I used.

He exposes the truth about detailing products and I believe ....

The Roadfly post (and subsequent related posts) using Meguiar's MSDS information on #20 & NXT was not exposing the truth, but skewing it.

Its been said before many times but I'll say it again: any of the following are just general descriptions of entire families or classes of chemical compounds: "solvents", "hydrotreated distillates", "isoparaffinic hydrocarbons", etc. which can mean any number of ACTUAL compounds.

Most people on Autopia probably don't even know what a Hydrotreater or a Distillation Column is, let alone the broad range of "hydrotreated distillates" one can produce in a refinery (or in the lab for that matter).

To try to prove or disprove Meguiar's integrity or claims by what's stated in the MSDS is absurd.

I applied the Z1 using 6 circular strokes using light/medium effort. Here's what I saw.

Next I applied Z2 (Note I didn't remove the Z1 just as the directions stated. Here's how much Z2 I used:

Using the same technique as Z1 I applied the Z2. Here is what I saw after applying Z2.

So I went over to my bottle of NXT and ran the exact same test.

Here's how much NXT I used:

Sorry to rain on your parade, but...

Z1 is a cleaner and is intended to prep the surface, thus the name. We all knew that. I think we're comparing LSP's here... Brad didn't use a Meguiar's prep + NXT. Zaino makes ZFX for this purpose.

So NXT makes black marker reappear?

EDIT: I just realized this was simulated after Brad's first test, and not his updated one. Gotcha!

EDIT 2: Nevermind! Saw your most recent post.

EDIT 3: Now I know what you mean by "So I decided to do nearly the same test on our Kenmore Dryer and well.......I almost regreted doing it."
