NXT vs. Z2 vs. Klasse SG Cleaning Test (56K warning)

So to keep with the original test I used the Z2 pad that I had used originally (same side of the pad) and applied it to my control line. Using similar effort I did 6 circular passes on the control line and here is what I saw. NOTE: You'll have to compare the original Z2 results to this to see the difference since I used the same side of the pad.

So, what kind of markers are you two using?

I saw nothing in SRL's test that would make me think he'd have trouble removing the marker with DACP even...

First of all don't use a permanent marker on a white Kenmore Dryer.:nono

Second I learned that most any product will take off some of the marker because nearly all waxes have some form of solvent in them. I will admit that Z2 didn't remove as much product as NXT and maybe NXT does have some more solvents in it. Does this make a difference to me, not really. Why??? Because I don't layer my products. Does it make a difference to another Autopian??? ABSOLUTELY. I know many of you layer your products and rely on the product having that capability.

One comment I would make that would probably be more valuable to an Autopian is to do a hood test using the same "Layerable" product. On one side use two coats of product and on the other side use 10 coats of product. Use the vehicle on a regular basis and compare the protection you get. That would be a very valid test of weather or not a product is layerable.

Hope this helped.

Mine was blue, his was black. :D Perhaps the composition of the inks is different. I'm sure Black would have more dye, thus be harder to remove.

Okay, I will email Sharpie and get breakdowns of the ink composition!

(I'm kidding, so anyone waiting for those breakdowns is gonna be waiting a while) :D

Now, maybe its the composition of the paint on the washers. MBZ's washer is older... :D

The dryer is two years old but no doubt Kenmore paint can't be as good as Maytag paint, especially after seeing these results. But now we're getting way off topic.;)

Anyways wanted to apologize for having to spread the pictures out on several posts, and for the yellowish hue of the pictures. The yellow is due to the poor lighting in the laundry room.

Now I need to go find my wifes nail polish remover and hope to god it doesn't take the paint off the dryer.

From all of this I guess it would be safe to say that Z2/ZFX should not remove cured NXT. Empirically speaking. Neither experimenters detected significant Z2 ink removal capability. I see an appearance experiment with my Zaino and NXT.

NXT gloss, depth and wetness locked in unaltered optically by Z2 and its high reflectivity.

Got to get to work. :D

I can actually give some insight into another (empiracal evidence) similar use of blue vs black Sharpies. I use 300 gal totes of chemicals at the power plant I work at; and I mark the daily levels on the side of the plastic with either of these two colors. When I wipe them down with paint thinners to remove the markings, the blue _always_ comes completely off, and the black won't quite remove, even with serious rubbing.

All I've learned is, I don't use the black on totes that have to be returned to the supplier...

I live about 1/2 mile from the Maytag plant..........they also make Kenmores there, so I think there's a pretty good chance the paint is same

Guys, please.... let's stay focused on what the test was about, not what it wasn't about.

We all have our own "bottom line". The least you can do is respect others trying to find theirs.

:nixweiss Look is very important along with durability and this test does nothing to show how durable NXT is or is not nor it's appearance. What it does show is that NXT is not a layerable product, at least in the sense that SG or Zaino are. Honestly, I'd rather use a product that I don't have to layer to get the results I want. And that is my bottom line. ;)

BTW, looks like I changed my user text and avatar just in time!
