NXT in Canada

bboy850: #16 can be ordered through NAPA and Auto Parts Central. NAPA has the lower "list price" but I ended up getting mine from APC due to a deal in pricing. You might want to have the Meg's part # when you order, just to speed things up, as it's not too likely either will have it on their shelf. I think it's #1611.

I drove 2 hours to cross the US border yesterday to pick up some NXT. The first place i saw after i crossed was an Auto Parts Source store.

I bought 2 bottles of NXT wax, 3 bottles of NXT spray wax and 2 bottles of NXT car shampoo.

After looking around for it in Canada for a month and hearing everybody talk about using NXT......holding a bottle in my hands felt like i was holding the Hope Diamond ! :LOLOL

I can't wait to get my car waxing marathon started this morning.

Just wanted to let fellow Autopians living in Toronto that Robert Automotive Supply [416-964-6876] carries the NXT line (the NXT wax was $32.50 and the NXT spray was $14.99). Great service compared to the store that is 5 minutes away from me. They were able to get me a can of #16 (cost me $18.99), can't wait to try it out! :D

I was at the Lordco on Marine Drive the other day and I saw they had the NXT line~!~~~~! Too bad it was all sold out except for the spray wax, ! either way, good news huh>?.

I saw some NXT at a local speed/tuner shop (in 0ttawa) last week. Didn't check the price. They had the wax, carwash soap, spay wax and rubber/vinyl protector.

What I find sad is that NXT in the US sells for APPROX 13.99 and he is selling it in CANADA for $32.50..............#16 sells in the US for 12.99 and he is selling it for $18.99 GO FIGURE #16 is a far better product then NXT

Well, I was looking for some DACP at the UAP NAPA store on 16th and look what I found.

I bought the last two bottles....one for me and one for yobwoc.

Hi Deemo - did you manage to locate a source for DACP? I have been all over town looking for it.

Megs Canada now has online ordering and NXT is $37 + (such a deal?) Obviously Canucks buying online better look at Eshine for prices. $13.99 US does not equal $37.00 Canadian. Same old crap we always have to put up with up here.

UAP NAPA on 16th Ave had it and possibly another bottle. It is a large bottle.

Call first and if they don't have it they can probably get it in a day or so.

Acklands Grainger also carries it.

If you have trouble finding it you can always borrow mine - I have plenty and it was mainly used for getting the truck into "maintenance condition". My bimmer is in good shape and may need some but certainly not as much as I have left.

Thanks a million Deemo. I will stop by there after the long weekend. Not much happening with this crummy weather. I ordered a bottle from CareCareCanada in Burnaby, but not sure of a delivery date and am getting impatient. Understand we might get our summer next week, on Tuesday.

I find it very interesting that the Megs products are so expensive in Canada. I'm surprised, but we have a similar occurrence here for prescription drugs. Hardly a day goes by that I don't see an ad for Canadian prescription drugs here in Wisconsin. There are several mail order companies that sell sell Canadian drugs to us at substantially reduced prices. The reason for this is that your Canadian government controls what the big drug companies can charge.

So why are the Meg's products so expensive just a few hundred miles to the north? Are there high taxes or import duties on the products? Can't you mail order the products from a number of US companies? Is this illegal?

The current exchange rate is around 1.37 therefore a $14 US bottle of NXT should cost around $19 CAN. So who is getting the other $18?

You can order from the States and a lot of us do. Only problem is if you get the wrong Courier company bringing it in (UPS) it may cost you $25.00 or more for "brokerage" charges. Only other item Canucks have to pay are our Sales taxes (15%)

Note to self..."Stop complaining about my 5% sales tax.":D

What are "brokerage" charges?

I've been to Canada a few times on business. I stayed in Montreal and Ottawa and found both beautiful, clean thriving cities. I seem to recall spending a lot of time in Hull as well.:lol

I guess because sometimes its easier to buy locally, don't have to wait for it to get mailed and also sometimes the shipping/brokerage charges add up to how much it costs locally. There is a Meguiars Canada headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario.
