NXT availability in UK

That is good news. I have not been to the Meguairs site in a while so the forum is new to me. Strange to see very similar user names to Autopia ;)

It's no good telling myself I don't need it...I'm gonna have to jump on the NXT bandwagon as soon as it's available. More money for Mr Creasey!

Wonder who pug_man could be... ;)

I have no idea what you are talking about - you mean Autopians are posting on the Megs site

That BMWMAN looks like a right troublemaker :D

Just checked how much it would be to ship 1 bottle to the UK from the USA, still a little more expensive as carriage was $18, Oh well looks like I'll wait until available from Alex

Morning folks, dunno wot you mean, 'troublemaker'

pugoman, it was you  i'd never have guessed :lol

well I thought as they weren't saying owt, I'd make it so they had to say somat :D

thats a very popular thread for some reason, had nearly 100 views in a very short time......can't imagine why :nixweiss

wonder when jack_lowe will appear there :p

Put my name on a bottle of NXT wax please Alex, cheers :xyxthumbs .....any of my names will do ;)

Typical Megs UK really! That's whay I buy Megs pro from Alex and consumer from a shop in Abingdon, Oxon (nice gents who run it and usually throw a freebie in too without me asking). I shouldn't knock em really but they are missing so many opportunities here in the UK and I'm sure that we do have a Mike Phillips here somewhere - anyone know?

Perhaps I should give Steve and the team a chance. I've only spoken to him briefly (and I know Alex talks to him a lot more) but they just don't seem to be on the ball. NXT is a good synthetic wax (durability aside as too soon to say - I'm talking ease of use, initial reaults etc.) but they just don't seem to be saying "here it is - place your order now and a free spray wax with orders over £XXX"

Or, as I said on the Megs UK forum, maybe they are genuinely worried about Mothers & other products? Apparently Autoglym are having a huge retail push in response to the influx of American products becoming available over here (like they need to....) although from what I've heard neither Megs UK nor Mothers are headed for Halfords just yet - particularly with the cost they want up front for marketing, samples etc - I'm reliably informed that this is the wrong side of £250k.

As others have said, David gives superb customer service & support and Alex really is "our" guy for other bits & pieces locally (well sort of, if you live south of the Watford Gap!)

Alex will also ship to the North but obviously it costs more to get past Watford.

You guys give Meguairs such a hard time, on their own forum. I think they should change their name to Autopia UK forum

That's coz it's bandit country.....

I guess we're all a bit spoilt by autopia and the current echange rates are making it very reasonable to "shop abroad" but come on! There's more than 350,000 classic cars alone in the UK and at least the same number of "enthusiast" type cars so I'd say that's a pretty big market. I know Megs get to a lot of events but believe me you can focus your attention on certain markets with enormous success (remember I sell insurance to these guys and that's A LOT harder than car care products!)

That wasn't meant to sound aggressive - apologies to all in advance if it reads that way!

I get on very well with Meg's UK, and have never had any beef with them at all...They've made the odd mistake with orders but are otherwise very easy to get along with.

They do alot to market their products but now NXT is almost upon us and what does everyone out there know?????? Absolutely nothing generally speaking. On a consumer level I think they could do VERY well with this line, it just seems very quiet out there for such a big thing about to hit the market....... Or is it only a big thing because us enthusiasts know about it????

Cheers.

- Everything Alex said -

I don't think NXT is only big amonst us lunatics...sorry, autopians. It is aimed at car care enthusiasts, period and this is what Megs UK ought to be doing but hey it's not my company so I guess they have a strategy. I had some dialogue with Rob there to ask why nothing's been said and he basically said there's nothing to tell right now....

...fair point maybe but if I were Megs UK I'd be shouting from the rooftops that it's on its way (and of course all you UK autopians would be getting a discount hehe)

I guess we all know we can get NXT and a lot of people seem to be realising that with the strength of the good old £ you can get a blinding deal so just as easy to ship it in - I'm almost tempted to try it myself!

Alex, I think we are a knowledgeable minority in the UK. I have loads of friends interested in cars & they all think I'm completely off my trolley (well, maybe I am). Shows how much pepole know by the number of people still using 'crap' like Mer.

I have even offered to use my PC to improve friends cars for nothing & they look at me in a strange way & then tell me 'my paint doesn't need sanding down!'

BTW is Adam Creasey who I have seen on the Porsche Owners forum any relation to you?

Can't agree more Jim - the guys I had dinner with last night mentioned Mer and then wondered why I fell off my chair. I've also offered to do their cars for free - hey, it's practice for me, they're bound to look better when I'm done and if I make a mistake they probably don't care anyway!

I met a client yesterday who runs a logistics co and does very well indeed (customised Jeep, Volvo XC90 on way, 3 series for the wife and a toy...)

The toy is a 02 996 C4S in non metallic black which does no mileage at all (like 1500 a year) and he's asked me to clean it for him coz the dealership....say no more.

He told me how much he looks after it but had never heard of MF, washmitts, WW etc etc. I've agreed to have a look (GULP!!!) when I've had some more practice with the PC. Speaking more to this guy he basically said that he wants to get good detailing stuff but Halfords aren't much use (his words).

I really honestly think it's down to the right marketing at the end of the day. Tell me if I'm wrong Alex but you've not had to spend zillions in advertising, have you? The right people buy from you, get looked after and tell their friends - that's how we hooked up originally!

I've waffled (no pun intended) enough. I'll go play with me PC and ignore the amused looks.

No, no relation that I'm aware of anyway ;)...

I had some woman come up to me not so long ago. She told me my car would look even better if I used MER on it. It's what her husband uses on their caravan (!!!!) and Jaguar. He's been using it for years...... All I could say was "Oh right, I'll maybe get some if it's that good...". It's only when I turned and walked away I was nearly crying with laughter... :D

Anyway, I can understand Meg's not going mad with a product they haven't got yet, I guess it's the parent company in the US that tells them whats what at the end of the end of the day but, if we don't give them the occaisional nudge to wake them up, we'd be donkey's years behind everyone else....Imho.

Cheers.

...and still using Mer which we saw that bloke down the market put on an old Mini bonnet and set fire to....

You are right in answer to your question btw. Sorry, your post went up while I was writing mine! :D

Advertising does/ can get bl**dy expensive though if you let it.

mer......it has to be good doesn't it.....its stood the test of time for so long now.......after all, one of the three kings used to use it on his camel...........must have been a great reflection under that big ol star :D :D :D

Anyway, back on subject, at least now we know when and how much. All we need now is some good weather........
