Nick’s unsolicited Zaino tips and tricks

What about Meg DACP/#9 using PC before Zaino application instead of SMG?
Meg’s #9 followed by a cleaner/polish such as GEPC/SEC or PUPP-C, followed by a Z-7 wash and Z-6 wipe should be great. If Meg’s #9 isn’t aggressive enough, then fall back to Meg’s #2 followed by #9 etc,

Good luck and have fun!

Hi everyone, I have been reading all the posts for hrs. And i have a problem with my car and need some suggestions.

Are these so called "reflection"? My car was sent to a detailer to fix but i guess they didnt use any abrasive product on it. They choosed to hide it rather fixing it.

Now, I plan to do it by myself, in my situation, Should i use 3M SMR and IHG before using zaino?

How do i use them properly to do the perfect prep prior to zaino?

Thank you very much.

This is a bit beyond what I know about...my knowledge pretty much is about my car, which doesn't have that problem. Sorry. I would suggest stripping all off with dawn, then using SMR for dark cars, but might need to get a PC or something...not too sure.

Read more about IHG...I think you have to strip back off prior to Z usage, but net net is yes, strip and get it right before starting with what you have...Z will just mirror what is there.

Sorry, what is GEPC/SEC and PUPP-C? I need products that are easily found in Canada... :(

I don't have Z7 wash right now, I currently use Zymol wash. Is DAPC too agressive then?

Sorry about the acronyms. GEPC is P21S’s Gloss Enhancing Paint Cleanser. SEC is S100’s Shine Enhancing Cleanser. These two products are very similar (or probably identical) and have a very fine abrasive as well as fillers and oils. I’ve been told that S100 products are available in the Frozen North at Harley Davidson dealers. PUPP-C is Platinum Ultimate Paint Pre-Cleaner and is a very similar product. available from PremiumAutoCare.

Whether DACP is too aggressive (or not aggressive enough) depends on the condition of your paint. No matter what polish you use to take out the marring, I’d most definitely follow it with a cleaner polish like S100’s SEC to increase the shine and reflectivity.

Good luck and have fun!

Any tips on doing all this stuff outside on a grass lawn? Best I can do. Also, will Zymol wash replace Z7 adequately?
