New Logo!!!!

Finally got a new logo made up. Overall I am very pleased with it. The look, feel, colors, and style are exactly what I wanted. Let me know what you think!

Nice. But I really think I've seen something very very similar here.

yeah, the design with the car silhouette is pretty common in our industry. This is a one-off though even though it is similar to numerous others. Made sure not to directly copy someone else.

gonna be harshly honest.....you took the same logo about 20% of all detail shops across the country have and changed it very little. as a professional, I would laugh if I saw that logo. again, just being straight up man to man.

Can I be honest?, thanks

Not trying to be harsh, but this design was played out 5 years ago. I would say at least 20% of all detail shops use this silhouette as their logo
Why, if I saw this logo presented to me I would probably chuckle
From one man to another this is my opinion

:swirly:

Well.. good thing i have thick skin.. whew.. I almost expected this reaction though....

Yes, I understand this design is largely played out. However, in my area, professional detailers are scarce. (I am one of the few) Nobody in my area uses this and the logo has been a really big hit, blowing my facebook page up with likes, shares, and comments. Really, its not a well known design here.

My avatar used to be my logo, but the problem with it is, there are two construction companies and a refrigeration company that use the same reversed "R" concept. So really, in my area, that logo was common.

regardless, I like it, my customers and followers seem to like it, but more importantly, I no longer look like a construction or refrigeration company. So in reality, I have distinguished myself from other businesses with this logo. Now, had I been in a different area, city, or region... this may not be the case, but for my local,.. it works.

Still, thanks for your input guys. Would love to see your alls logos if you want to add them and turn this into a logo appreciation thread...

Called Tony. Guy charges $450 for a logo. My goodness, we're all in the wrong business.

Tune up your art skills and you too might be worth this type of money. I own some of Tony's work, I have no doubt he's worth every penny.

To the OP, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what anyone other than you and your customers think. If it works for you, you've done the right thing.

I'm no expert but I kind of like your new logo. I thought the reflection at the bottom was clever and of course the color scheme reminds me of the Seattle Seahawks.

It`s been a while since I`ve been on here and I just stumbled upon this...wish I`d have seen this and could`ve replied sooner.

That may seem like a lot of money to you (or even others), but this is a business that you will hopefully be taking very seriously and you should want to put your best foot forward. Is my pricing higher than some...yes. Is it cheaper than some...yes.

Bottom line is, I`ve been a graphic designer for over 25 years now and am a professional...not some fly-by-night, punk-kid designer...not some overseas "logo factory" that whips up meaningless designs in minutes and charges $50-200.00 for a design that may be replicated again tomorrow for another detailing company. EVERY logo I design is unique to each customer, based on your needs and wants after i converse with you a bit about what you`re after. I spend many hours researching your business name for any others that may exist by that same name elsewhere, so that I am positive that what I design will be 100% unique to you. I strive for a great job because it`s not just your business on the line, but my reputation as well. I want to continue to be successful, so I will continue to grow my design business as well.

Now is my logo going to guarantee your success? Absolutely not. That comes from you, your drive, your passion, your reputation, and your quality of work. But what my logo will do is set you apart from the lackluster, average joe`s with a poor logo design or someone who just uses a "font" from their "Word" software and thinks it`s "good enough".

So when you have been in business for 25+ years and have made a boatload of cash, that measly $450.00 will seem like `peanuts` in the grand scheme of things. And it will have been that iconic logo that helped to "brand" you and helped to grow your business, setting you apart from your competition.

Please don`t mistake my answer here as me being upset, as I`m not. I just want others to realize that as with anyone in their career, as you achieve more success and experience, you can charge more for your services. Many of you detailers are likely the same.

I started this 25 years ago doing logo design for free, and then for 25-50.00 for many years...striving to build my portfolio and my reputation...trying to "get my name out there". After about 10 years, I slowly started increasing my prices a bit. A bit later than that, I upped them again as I was trying to weed out the guys who just wanted "cheap" but wanted me to put in countless hours for them with change after change, and in the end, I "lost" money.

My price is my price. Word of mouth gets around and many people continue to refer me, and about 90% of my business is repeat customers because they know my quality and trust my workmanship.

I`ll stop down from my soap box for now. Again, I`m not trying to be a jerk, just explaining why my pricing is what it is.

You`re not being a jerk, I 100% believe you when you state that you have to research a lot to ensure you`re being original. I personally spent hours and hours deciding on just a business name after renaming it numerous times, plus many many more hours breaking my head coming up with a logo. I personally was not able to afford paying anyone to design anything for me because of my financial situation at the time did not allow it, so I wouldn`t consider your prices "expensive" because that`s like me blaming you for the reality which is simply " I cannot afford you at the moment" .

People don`t realize that when it comes to a SERVICE that involves the creation of something from scratch which involves a lot of creativity and artistic inclination/experience, pricing can make a difference in results VS. price shopping for a PRODUCT that`s already made, and just being sold by different providers. Thankfully I used to draw and paint a lot when I was younger, so I am artistic and creative which helped me during this process but even then it was not easy drawing so many mock ups and looking at the same thing for hours trying to re-imagine different positioning, coloring, shaping etc..

When a service like this is out of someone`s reach their immediate response is "expensive" but they refuse to think about the years and process it takes for an Artist to develop their skills, especially in such a market.

And I didn`t mention it, but when you amortize the minimal 1-time expense of a logo, it`s really nothing over a period of years you stay in business...providing one is to stay in business for several years.

Granted, some may want to "refresh" their logo in time as sometimes a refresh is a good change, but in most cases, your logo defines you and you may not really want to change it...especially if you get what you wanted from your designer initially.

I`ve changed my logo some over the years, but it`s my profession and I like change. LOL

You hit the nail on the head. I`m no professional detailer, but I`m certainly a weekend warrior. Can i polish my car myself...yep. Does it look as good as if I took it to a guy with 25 years of experience...hell no. That`s why some people who are overly picky utilize people like that...they "want" that experience and those great results.
