Never!

I'm going to polish the Sequoia up with SIP then 106ff, then an IPA wipedown. Then I'm going to follow the directions in the Ultima Sampler Kit to a T.

Put something on top of Vintage... pfffft... you should know better! :p

Yup you are right..........but better safe and scolded than sorry lol!!!!!!

You can skip the IPA wipe down and just go to PPP and then PGP. PGP will make the surface nice and clean.

I think SpoiledMan meant that PPP will clean the surface not PGP.

I'm sure it's already common knowledge, but anything you order from David on this site will be backed by nothing but the best customer service. I have ordered several times from him and even called with questions before. I always come back here. My wife thinks I'm a bit off kilter for some of the $$ I spend on detailing products though. Hey, I want nothing but the best. I might even order the Ultima after it comes down in price. :chuckle: I was given the no-go after I told the war counsil the price. Anyway, this site and David are very customer orientated and excell at customer service.

"If there's so much as a typo in the instructions, it'll be here in glaring detail."

When I was reading the instructions I found a Title/Header that looks like it should be bolded in red like the rest of the Title/Headers :grinno:

Steve

Yup, I found this, too! On page 11, the "Machine Application" header should be in red bold like the others. :chuckle:

Damn SuperBee you have become quite chatty! Now start producing the follow up, will this stuff be worthy for the Bentley GT or are we going to use the vintage?

Yeah, now that the move is over with and my work schedule has calmed down a bit, I have time to get back to detailing.

And the Bentley is getting the Vintage. :)

Think I'll save enough of the UPGP to put on the Sequoia and see if it really can last that long.

Doesn't the literature say that one bottle should be good enough for about 50 applications to the average car?

Also, where did you find a 13+ page instruction booklet? All I got with mine was a brochure on the entire line of Ultima products.

It was included in the Ultima Sampler Kit. 23 Pages. It says, "a single ounce of Ultima Paint Guard Plus will coat your car four to five times." So I'm thinking that a 12 oz bottle should go 48-60 applications. 48 applications is $1.46 each, which makes the 70 buck price tag seem a bit more realistic, although I think that I'd rather buy 24 applications for half the price.

Oh, ok. I didn't get the sampler, i got the full bottles.

Sounds like the same 23 page brochure that I got though.

I thought you meant you got an actual instruction booklet.

In that small of a spray bottle, do you mix it with water or something in a seperate bottle to make it last longer?

I was aware that four stars chemists came up with this working with david, but don't really see any similar products they have to offer.. Maybe the detail spray? I've never used the 4* so I don't know. And I doubt any of the 4* stuff has the polycharger base..

Just noticed that the bottles in the Ultima Sampler Kit say that they were manufactured by Four Star Products. Four Star Product's web site has their usual product line up, but the product names and descriptions are *very* similar to Ultima's. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but do we have another Chemical Guy's/Adams situation going here, or are the Ultima products truly a different formulation than Four Star's regular line up?

UPP wont last 6 months or longer.

But if Ultima is as slick as UPP for even 1-2 months, itll be a winner.

I got the full size bottle. Comes with a sprayer. No dilution.

According to the directions you only need one spray for each 3-4ft panel of your car.

Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection Spray appears to be very similar to UPGP.

Four Star Ultimate Pre Wax Cleanser appears to be very similar to UPPP.

As well as their detail spray, and a bunch of the other ones I'm not gonna take the time to copy and paste URL's for. Take a look at the products on four star's page, and compare them to the Ultima line up.

While the four star products don't say they have the polycharger base, four star *is* the manufacturer of polycharger, and even advertises it on the web site posted above.

Oh well, regardless of whether or not they are the same products as the regular Four Star line up, this is an evaluation thread and I'll try to stay on topic from here out.
