!!!!! Meguiar's Lab Sample "d"!!!!!

Darn it , Mike. How come I don't have any samples of this stuff? I think we could use some real world testing results out here in the Northeast. Hint, hint.

PS- Haven't talked to you in a while, how's the Caddy?

Hi Jeremy,

Long time no see.

You'll get a chance to see the product and talk to Mike Pennington at SEMA in a couple of weeks.

He can fill you in on the details, (no pun intended)

As far as samples go... R&D is kind of stingy right now. I'm only getting enough to keep up with testing and the cars I'm detailing.

Sorry about that.... :(

Caddy?

Lynn's 1959 Cadilac is doing fine, she told me the other day ago that she wants her engine breathed on, (she wants a Blower).

I'm down with that.

You can check it out here

I'm actually stepping out to the garage right now to do the other half of the black Miata I used last Sunday for the SOCALM Miata club.

Here's a link to the side-by-side, before and after pictures.

I'll be posting some new pictures after I finish the car and pull it out into the sunlight.

By the way, today I will be using Lab Sample E

I'm confused... lab sample E vs lab sample D... are they both polymer based protectants?? What's the difference??

Hi rasx,

They are the same product, a synthetic paint protectant, (wax by any other name).

The difference is that Lab Sample E has been tweaked a little after feedback and testing results have been turned over to R & D.

Aurora40,

At the detailing event Mike explained that Meguiars is developing a QD specifically designed to replenish the shine and protection of Lab Sample when it comes on the market. Actually I'm not sure if it will be labeled as a QD or spray wax, maybe he can chime in. I'm also not sure if it will have the cleaning abilities that FD or other QD's have.

rasx,

Lab Sample 'D' and 'E' are essentially slight variations of the same product. The product is still in it's development phase and Meguiars is adding "certain" characteristics that consumers look for. As the product is developed it will be labeled differently until they decide on the final formulation. The official name/formulation of the product will be introduced at the SEMA show the first week of November. I wish I could be there, sounds like a car nuts dream show!

WHAAAAAT????

Actually, to start with, Lab Sample D will have a companion product which is a spray-on version of the same product.

It's a booster type product that maintains and even builds on the results you achieve using Lab Sample D.

It will be like a quick detailer on steroids.

At this time, Final Detail will continue to be sold through the Detailer Line in both 1-gallon and 5-gallon containers.

Off to the garage.

If I can use this stuff over my SG ( in the mean time, may replace the SG with it) sounds like a dream come true!

Mike please inform me that they are not changing FD. Please do not tweak with perfection.

At least in my usage on my cars.

Also, a little confused. Is this new "sample D/E are polymeric sealant like Zaino and Klasse or a product similiar to Blackfire, Platium, EX and Mother's Reflection ?

TIA

PS do not mess with FD#51 :o

Hi blkZ28Conv,

There are no changes being made to Final Detail, (D-51).

At this time... there are no new quick detailers coming out of the lab at Meguiar's.

There is a new spray-on synthetic paint protectant, which is a companion product to the Lab Sample/Synthetic paint protectant.

These new products were created by Meguiar's chemists and are Engineered Synthetic Polymers

Back to the garage... I left the rotary buffer running... (just kidding ;) )

Mike

I can''t make it to SEMA, when will you have sample E on the shelves and what will you call it so we know what to look for.

Looks like it might be a good year for new products.

Thanks

Mike

The picture shows a Trigger Wash label in it, is that a new product and when will that be on the shelves.

One question I haven't seen answered yet is whether or not it stains trim. I would think not being a polymer but, worth asking anyway :)

Thanks

FlyNavy,

Lab Sample is a completely new product from Meguiars. It is nothing like any of their previous products IMO. In fact I can't really compare it to any product on the market that I've seen. According to Mike the product development borrows from several of their other technologies. I won't go into detail since I promised Mike/Meguiars but it's pretty exciting. Maybe he'll chime in and explain where it all started.

I don't think you should be allowed to mention stuff like this until it is almost ready to go on sale... It's not fair... :(
