The United States leads the world in freedom of the press. You find me one State or Federal government controlled media outlet.



I think I saw those people who control everything in an X Files episode.



You grew up in a communist country and you're calling the US a "police state?!" We've had far more government observation on citizens during times when the President received a declaration of war from Congress like during WW2. I was going to start another thread with a anit-democrat conspiracy theory to show that democrats would react in the same way repulicans reacted to this thread, but when I did a quick search, I found no anti-democrat conspiracies. I thought that was rather funny. Just goes to show who makes all the conspiracy theories. lol

I just want to live my life and be left alone, so I don't support either side, but in the early 90s I used to get a newsletter from COSMIC AWARENESS COMMUNICATIONS and their so called channeled info predicted that in 10 years "terrorism" will be a household word. Those newsletters can be ordered today to verify. Now that part of their mambo jumbo is interesting to me.

What would have him do? Jump up, scream and run to Air Force One? Or would you prefer he stay in his office like John Kerry, stunned and unmoving for 45 minutes?



What is the appropriate response when you are in front of kids? What would you have done?



Also Bin Laden's family was able to leave the country according to that movie - is that true Scott? And how do you explain that?

I'll give you one example - in the previous "war" all the us news channels were reporting how the US is so careful not killing citizens, yet when my mom calls me up and tells me how many people are being killed by the Americans. Now who was telling the truth?



As far as me calling the US a pilice state? My friend I am not the only one, I hope this isn't the first you hear that from someone. FYI, I said I see reflections of what I couldn't wait to excape from. I am not here to convince you of it, it is simply what I see. If you see it otherwise... good for you. Otherwise just see how the police is treating people. That is always a very good indicator of how things are and where they are heading.

I have no idea what I would have done. I may freak, I may sit there stunned, trying to collect my thoughts. Unless a situation like that actually occurs, there is no one who can say for certain exactly how they would react.

All that shows is what a level head he has. I probably would have freaked and ran out to get to my house ASAP. That wouldn't have done me any good though. It would have also probably freaked out the kids.
 
Hey, my dad cut his pinky finger off hanging by a thread with the electric hedge clippers. As he screamed and agonized with blood curdling screams, I stood there, frozen, unable to move.



It's a normal emotion. I think it's dopey and trivial to bring up he sat there for a few minutes. No other President had to deal with something of that magnitude while having a live camera on him.



Well, he sure as hell responded with the military action authorized in Afghanistan. That's what counts in my opinion.

i am not suggesting that the president of the US should have freaked out :hairpull



I wonder what he would have done if he "had to go" due to diarrhea - whould he have worried about freaking the kids? Not sure what my point is but I am sure as hell that I would have left immedietly. Worrying about the kids? How about the kids that have lost their parents? :confused:

I don't think that's a fair comparison. If you were at a dinner party, and you got a phone call saying that your significant other had been in a traffic accident, I think you would get up and say "excuse me, I need to make/take a phone call" or "excuse me, my gf has just been in an accident, I need to find out if she's alright".



I would hope that the chief executive (of anything, let alone a country), would be able to get up from in front of a bunch of kids and say "excuse me kids, something has happened that I need to attend to, your teacher will continue reading to you". Clearly, the President needed to be in immediate contact with his staff to get the latest and full info, not what was whispered to him for 10 seconds.



EDIT: I do agree that enough has been made of this already...people can easily move on to something else :p
 
To all of you who have put faith in this video, I ask you one thing.



If our government could plan, execute and cover up 9/11, why have they been unable to plant WMDs in Iraq to show the world we were right?
 
Scottwax, Excellent point!!!! :sign We have a President who is supposedly incapable of coherent thought but he cooked up one of the greatest conspiracies in the history of the world. Yet, he won't "find" WMD in Iraq to save his own butt? Surely that would be thousands of times easier than what is being alleged. :2thumbs:

And a lot of good that did. We quickly forgot about Afghanistan, and where is it now? Taliban and poppy fields abound. Let's go attack a country that wasn't directly responsible for anything in this country. It was a diversion, and made us all feel like we were really getting the bad guys. Sure we might have rid ourselves of their training grounds, but then what. So many of those guys were Saudis we should have bombed them, but NO we get too much oil from there and the Bush family is in bed with those folks (Carlyle Group). And don't bother trying to tell me that's not true either. People are so busy feeling like this lame crap the government is doing is gonna keep us safe. For every one detainee we have in Gitmo there are a thousand more over in the Middle East that are more willing and rabid. Threat color levels are meaningless, and there are WAY, WAY too many things that can be exploited in this country if someone wanted to.
