Hello

This is what happend after using these pads.

Orange-used 5 or so times
White- used 10 times.

I bought these pads from TOL and i also bought the backing plate that they suggested for it. I emailed them tonight about it. Tommarow when i get it back i will know how they are going to handle it.

i just bought those pads, havent used them yet. hope that doesnt happen to me. Those pads are cupped in a way, are they hard to work with, the orange ones. it seems like only the outside will touch the car.

They should replace them accordingly. That's the bonus of buying from good vendors and manufacturers!

Definately a defect.

Contact the retailer and/or LC. I have been using my white pads rather regularly and washing them via machine without 1 problem.

No those pads were very flat. they became cupped over time. I hope you have better luck than i did.

Call them and talk to Irene. I let her know about these pads and she will take care of you no problem.

It has nothing to do with the vendor. It is simply the backing on the pads is too small for the backing plates.

Hey, I had the same thing happen to a couple of my white pads. Let us know how it turns out for you. I stopped using the pads because they would rip apart during polishing and little pieces of foam would get thrown all across the area being polished. I was pretty annoyed that they did this after using them only once or twice.

6.5 inch pads with a 6" backing plate. That is what TOL.com suggested.

Greg

I always use a 5" plate with 6" and 6.5" pads. Looks like the plate extended past the velcro and cut into the pad. I never have this problem with the smaller plate.

Let us know what happens. I've read in the past of this problem occuring. I was planning on ordering some of those orange flat LC pads from TOL and using them with my 6" BP. I'm having second thoughs now.

Those pads looks defective to me, although I am certainly no expert. But I am absolutely sure that Irene will make it good and send you new ones. They are good people at TOL.

I'm with Anthony A, I had the same thing happen to my LC orange pad until I change the BP to a 5"....that eilimated the problem.

I spoke to a friend who works at Lake Country - the backing plate needs to be at least the same size as the velcro on the pad.

They're changing pads to have larger velcro on them, to prevent this from happening.

That sounds like that would fix it. Or having a maller BP. I'm waiting on a call back from TOL. I will check back when i have the news.

Thanks

HEllo

WOW 2 huge thumbs up for TOL !!!

I got a call back and they asked if i woudl like the 7.5" pads. They would fit my backing plate perfectly. Of course i said. I was looking into those pads anyway so i got them free of charge. I still have the finishing pad and i hope that will still work fine. If not im sure they will replace that as well. I would highly reccomend working with TOL. They really came through for me.

I had a white pad fall part on me the last time I used one. I have one of the new pad designs, with the two kinds of foam to keep the pad perfectly flat. They work great other than I think it could have lasted more than 3 uses on speed 5. I think that unless they start making the 6.5 in pads like the 7.5, this is going to be a problem.
