Interesting Conversation About the Cost of Detailing

Well, if everyone will look at my first post in this thread, I was simply trying to be one voice of reason.

I didn't and still don't see anything wrong with the post complained about.

I don't know either dude, but I know one of them is getting a raw deal here. That's it, I'm done.

WOW... I'm embarrassed by this thread. If there was a top ten list of threads that painted a bad picture of Autopia, this one is on the list.

I have pretty thick skin. I'm used to getting slammed by low-life in other forums, but that does not mean I like it. How would you all like to visit a new community and see this:

Those people do not know what detailing really is. I guess they haven't heard of autopia either.

bad thread... nothing interesting about that except a bunch of idiots trash talking when they don't know *** they're talking about in the first place...

yeah those guys are idiots.

....and apparently they don't know sh*% about detailing

That's pretty low of him to do that. For anyone that's interested, this poster posts over at ... as ...

Personally, if I saw that, I'd turn and run. Frankly, I feel like I need to go apologize to the other community.

I'm locking this thread. It has no business here.

Real life - means that is what I do for 60 hours a week... the rest of the time I pretend to know what I'm doing either with my lawn or the paint on my car.

As for my example... I'll tell you why it is good. Detailing is finite. There is only a certain amount of "perfection" one can achieve.

Perfect is perfect. So, assuming Nick can get job "A" done perfect and so can Holden, on that particular job, it is safe to say Nick is at least as good as Holden. If for example, Nick gets EVERY job to the highest attainable level of correction or perfection, again the statement would be fair.

So, I think the statement is fair in as much is I would bet dimes to dollars that you would probably see no discernable difference in their work.*

*Other than the fact that Nick probably uses better products and Holden is from Canada and what do Canadians know beyond igloos and seal hunting!

haha... you are completely right, ASSUMING they get the same job done in the same time with the same results for $3k difference... but there's no way either can know exactly what the other does to deserve the money...

#1- I also offer these mega details(60+ hours)

#2-Where did I compare any of my prices against his?

Only thing I did was post that I could do just as good of a job, or better for less money. You read created all of your own assumptions after that.

So you refuse to answer my question above? I asked about the link...

And why do you only have a problem with me here? Just because I'm bored out of my mind waiting for my g/f to get ready and feel like posting about my opinion... you had the balls to post your opinion on how you do great work and cheap compared to someone else's ridiculous prices yet you criticize me and tell me I make Autopia a bad place to post? haha ok...
