Griot's new polisher-what is it?

the point of the griots polisher even being brought up at all is an advertisement against the pc/g100

It's not if the outcome is that the reviewer finds the competitor lacking. I find your faith in human nature refreshing.

I'm sorry, but you won't see any threads on MOL where a product is compared to a Meg's product (G100) where the competing product comes out on top.

you're saying that the griots polisher had no chance of coming out on top, even if it performed better, and also since it's not a meg's product?

p.s not to start :argue but, you're entitled to your opinion as do i. have a great day...

Is there something odd about the backing plate system? I've heard some comments, but am not sure what the specific concern was.

Thx.

Yes Tom - it's not a normal hook/loop backplate, it's screwed onto the machine...so you can't just unthread the backplate for a different sized one, or a carpet cleaning attachment, etc. Other than that after having owned and used both, it's just as good as the pc.

To answer a question from before in this thread. Porter Cable has come out with a small rotary ( Metabo size), Model L1503VR.

whose minimum speed is apparently 1200rpms

1200 rpm is a reasonable speed. most polishing can be done in the 1000-1500 rpm range

just seems a bit high for a machine that has only an on-off switch. At least the metabo goes down to 700rpms.
