<<< FORUM UPGRADE ISSUES >>>

After editing my previous reply for a typo, it's too bad this software doesn't have a spellchecker. :nixweiss

I'd like to see a New Posts button on the top toolbar, right to the left of the LINKS button. It would save me a few clicks to get to the one hidden in the LINKS button. I am used to just hitting the HOME button in the old version to see all the latest posts. Spoiled I guess.

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet (no time to read all 7 pages) but what about the Forum Jump box? Kind of a pain to have to click on "forums" then the correct forum instead of going to the bottom of the page and just clicking there.

Otherwise, I really like the upgrade, especially the thread preview. :)

I can not seem to view the gallery. I am logged on to Autopia, but the gallery says I am not registered. Any help would be great and the upgrade looks good. Keep up the good work

I have the gallery issue that many others have and cannot view the images.

FYI: The Autopia Member Photo Gallery Message that tells you: "You must be a registered user to view images" tells you to register by clicking the register button above, however there is no register button.

Same issue here with the gallery.

We're still having continual problems with the search engine functioning and viewing the gallery............ :wall

The advanced search button doesn't work from the home page. It works when you are on other pages, but for some reason, the advanced search can't be found from the home page.

For those of you that are having issues with viewing members' galleries and are getting the "You must be a registered user" message, I don't know if this will work for you, but I just figured out how to get mine to work.

Click on the GALLERY tab at the top of the page to get into the gallery, and then click on LOGIN, and log yourself in. After that, I was able to view pics like normal. Hope it works for you guys.

I really think we should simplify the reply box to have just one solid blue bar...here are the advantages:

1. Less screen clutter.

2. Easier to look for nth number reply.

3. Much easier to read.

I would imagine this would be easy to do. Todd and I visit a music site www.stevehoffman.tv often which is very well done. It has very similar color scheme but simpler reply boxes. Check it out.

I hope this helps. :)

Here is what the Hoffman reply boxes look like...much easier on the eye, no?

It appears that the upgrade changed the forum directory, and thus the threads I bookmarked on my system are no longer at the addressess I bookmarked them at. Is there an easy way to refind them? For example, I have Sean's Carpet Cleaning tutorial bookmarked as this (http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43947) and all I get is a not found error. Is there an easy way to change this so it finds the correct thread (eg, change forums to forum, remove the www, whatever). It is just kind of annoying as I have a whole bunch of threads bookmarked for reference, and with the upgrade they are no longer in their previous locations. Thanks

I have an issue with the "New Posts" link. Previously, I could hit this link and get all of the posts since the last time I logged on. If I didn't have time to read them right away, I could leave the page open, periodically hit refresh on my browser (IE), and it would update to include any new posts since last time I refreshed. Now, hitting refresh doesn't update the number or order of posts, and if I hit the "New Posts" link again, it only shows you the posts that have changed since the last time you clicked it (or some time window thereabouts), causing me to lose ones I may not have checked.

Are there some settings that control this? Or a better way to acheive the result?

EDIT: I have been using the "New Posts" under the "Links" pulldown....not the "View New Posts" or "Today's New Posts" from the home page...dunno if they will work differently :nixweiss

Time for me to dig out my desk clock again and set it to "Autopia time" roughly 2 hours and 5 minutes slower than actual....

You're in Eastern Time right Bill? My "Autopia clock" is also just over 2hrs slow (time is currently 1:37PM). I guess the time is the same for everyone...the personal time zones just aren't working?
