Do you think PBMG pays forum members to plug their products?

The problem I have with "bashing" any product in one of my review is simple: is it a bad product or is it user error? Before I go and share my "don`t buy X" advice I make d@mn sure I`ve eliminated all possible factors that I could be at fault for introducing.

Being a hack, I will say if somethings hack (bubba) proof..... :D

As far as user error ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :D

Actually if I follow directions, is it user error? Seriously though, yes there can be user error, but to me I like to try in a variety of conditions. Like part sun/part shade etc.

It`s hard to "bash" any product put out now. Products have been tested and retested before they hit the market, so while they might not be the best product you have ever used, it might be the second best product you have used. And on a polish it might be the pad or the type of paint or the temperature of the panel. There are so many variables that go into testing a product most of the time I will not leave any negative feedback on a product unless I try it over and over and keep getting bad results. One bad review can cost a manufacturer a lot of money. I want to be sure it is the product and not me.

... Reviews from the highly regarded guys on here give me a very good understanding of a product and how good it is in comparison to other products but downside is when they say its easy to use I have to say yeah for them but i`m a novice will it be that easy for me. For the other novices on here that review products I question their broad product knowledge for comparison but value there opinion on how easy it will be to use a product for a novice.

Sometimes I wonder if I fall in the latter. I still consider myself a novice, but feel like my work product is decent enough to be able to help others out.

I haven`t done a massive amount of cars, but have "played" with enough products to have some knowledge and first-hand experience. And I keep trying new products.

When I do my reviews (excluding most of the Gyeon I did recently), I try and provide information on factors that may affect someone else`s results; i.e., temp, humidity, location, and have even included surface temps, water temp, and water pressures on some! On some, I`ve come back weeks/months later with an update.

Some guys put out some very thorough reviews, and I aim to do similar. I`ve made decisions based on those reviews, and have been satisfied with those decisions.

PBMG may not be paying me for my reviews, but getting free products in exchange for them is more than fair to me. I would have *never* tried out the Ultima line, or the Gyeon line, otherwise.

A friend shilling a product that I gave (and I paid for) him for Christmas

Is he "shilling" since he didn`t pay for it ?!?!?!?!?

Yeah, I actually liked it so much, that I bought some for friends.....................

To be "transparent" and full disclosure.... I did get it on sale, and used my soon to be defunct connect discount

Yes, it is a great product. It is smooth as butter on the ZO6. Can`t wait to use it on mine soon BTW Thank you Ron for the gift and a BIG THANK YOU To Vega for helping me get back on Autopia......:autopia:

wow ..what an interesting thread .. ok POV from Mfg ...

we don`t give product away products on the market for sale

we do give samples, usually via a contest , for new products that are not available for sale

we do expect honest and in depth reviews for the give aways so we can use hands on experience to better our products

we take reviews serious to either show us something we don`t know or re-affirm the in house testing

we never have or will pay people for reviews including Major Magazines or Web sites

and as stated earlier by someone.. giving out product is very expensive!

and yes we try to be as transparent as possible and yes the King does get samples of new stuff because his reviews are usually spot on and he is the King ;)

Thanks Steve.

I think it is time for the mods to please lock this thread. I have said my peace, offered my opinion, and have received some PM`s from others asking similiar questions. Again, if anyone is actually getting paid to push products, good for you. There is nothing illegal about it. I believe there is evidence of it happening in the past....I just hope that people who come on to these forums understand, do your own research, try to make as educated decision as you can. Sometimes the the new hot girl at school you want to take to prom, requires a sports car and a huge back account to get to first base. While the nerdy "plain" girl has a case of the "freaky deeky" and only wants you to be nice to her.
