Do you think PBMG pays forum members to plug their products?

This certainly won`t get me any brownie points, but hear me out. It seems that on AG, and Autopia forums there are some highly respected member who many noobs look to for guidance. Which is the same as every other forum of sorts. But I just find it odd, that a certain American Sports car owner from the south, pushes the latest and greatest. Like PA, for example. Claiming that the "shine" is even more than before.... I`m sorry. Once a car is prepped properly, I have never noticed one wax/sealant/coating.... To blow me away. Yes, when I`m done with a car, and coat it or whatever LSP is used, it looks amazing. Better than most cars on the road, but does the latest Spritzer spray reall add that muc more depth, or does it offer more of a placebo shine. If PBMG is not paying certain members for schilling product.. They should. This isn`t really a dig on anyone, just kind of curious if I`m the only one that sees this.

Yes it is a dig.

I give my honest opinions of products, finished.

Certainly not meant that way. And I have followed your recommendations many times. All happy purchases. I just think some members should be compensated for their loyalty. That`s all

I will praise or flame ANY product I like or dislike

and I`ve tried a few so far

I`ve probably tried more products on my SRT than most people even have on their wish list...I`d like to think I know which ones work better and which ones don`t.

Is the "better" look worth the money? That`s in the eye of the beholder and one`s ability to rationalize.

To me, I am on a quest for THE BEST look possible and I spend a nice chunk of change to experiment towards that.

Let`s be honest, we (die hard detailers, or Autopians, if you will) exist on the fringe within a void where most people would consider most things to be unnecessary.
I personally like it there.

I guess it came off as dickish. And it just wasn`t meant that way. As a Business, I guess I would want to reward my more loyal patrons that help move product. Almost like Jimmie Johnson wants me to shop at Lowes

Once compensation is in play the reviews are useless. They become motivated not to knock a product.

Check my Gold Zirkon review and what Ron`s feelings were towards PA.

It wasn`t until he received some Secret Santa that he got involved in it.

The stuff is pricey, but ease of use and results speak for themselves. He is not the only "fan boy" here. People praised it here and on other forums before Autopia carried it.

It would make sense if those individuals only pushed PBMG (or whatever the parent company is now) house brands, where PBMG would make a better profit margin.

I highly recommend you try it for yourself. It is not really a detailing for money line, unless a client is willing to pay. It is an enjoyable line to use when spend quality time with your vehicle.

I appreciate this being an open forum. I came over to Autopia for the unbiased, honest opinions, and to learn about other brands not sold at specific vendors.

They have giveaways for multiple brands, which is nice. In a away with those they do reward our loyalty to contributing to their forum, which in turn takes people to their store to purchase.

If it wasn`t for this, I would probably never have tried the line.

Now if PBMG would carry Kamikaze and Overcoat, I`d probably never go anywhere else. They picked up Gyeon.

So I`m a happy camper for now.

Congratulations 512detail! You have just been awarded the RivFan "Quote of the Year" award! (sorry, no plastic trophy or cash prize though).

I do believe that quote should be immortalized in my forum signature somewhere though...

I hear what you`re trying to say Billy Baldone. It`s good question too. I certainly don`t receive any sort of compensation from PBMG for a review. Yes I do receive free products from giveaways and yes I do enjoy sharing my thought on them. My reward in writing a review is 2 fold: #1 Quite simply I enjoy the review writing process. Telling a story in both words and photos is fun for me. #2 It creates a dialogue of the products pros & cons and (I hope) helps people decided if they should spend thier hard earned cash on it. Detailing is my hobby. I enjoy having forums like Autopia and AGO to share and learn from others on.

Neh, folks here are honest, and I trust 99% of what I read here. ACC dont have to compensate at the rate they do giveaways....

Huh, I`ve never paid attention to "Rewards Points" here, wonder if I`ve earned any..

Ronkh-Re that pic of you with the trophy, I wanna be the first (only?) to say that you look really presentable there! [Darn], you clean up good when you bother to :D

Thanks..... (I think) :D

I know for sure several years ago AG had a young detailer with a bright yellow small pickup truck I think from Tennessee that was outed when he told another forum member and that forum member posted about it. There was quite a ruckus on the forums about it when everything played out AG pretty much shunned him. I suspect PBMG still has respected detailers hyping products on the forums.
