Detailed: 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

That's hard to believe, a lot of people do 80-85 on the freeway in Michigan, myself included. Not that cops won't write you for that, but I can't believe it's reckless.

Here in Virginia, "reckless" is considered driving 20 over or driving 80+ (ridiculous IMO). The highest speed limit I've seen in the state is 70 mph.

The freeways around Phoenix are (literally) a gauntlet of speed cameras. For instance, I-10 has them almost every 2 miles.

...and we still DARE call America the land of the free!

My WRX hit it's rev limiter at about 165 after I put bigger tires on it so it wouldn't peg out so early. I think stock powered it would top out at about 140ish and with factory tires modded would stop at around 155, that's why I put bigger tires on it. I think it would have easily made 175-180 with the mods that were on it, but well the drivetrain....

finalfinish- How stable is it up there?

I've been for hot laps in a WRX but I've no experience in one at really high speeds....

Normally 85-95 mph and I have the tickets to prove it.

I have done New York City to Montreal door to door in 4 hrs 10 min. This requires an average speed of 90 mph. To achive this an average speed of 110mph is required to account for fuel stops and customs clearance.

The fastest I have driven is 165mph gps verified.

I have frames here in my room of about half of my tickets. There are ten tickets here! I had a five-year learning curve.

I have pegged most of my cars, but the quickest and most thrilling was my Bullitt, which ran out of road at 160 mph pretty quickly. Tremec 6-speed and gears ate up the top end ability for sure.

Lots of stangs in here...ahaha.

My top speed is 176mph on a stretch on I20. (The car has a Saleen dash harness, with 200mph cluster). That was probably the scariest moment of my life. I was driving my fathers 03 cobra. THe car has a 2.6 KB, built suspension, irs removed for straight axle, and a s*** load of tire shake!

Things have gotten pretty bad in Ontario,Canada... 50 Km over the speed limit and you're in deep s**t with the law... the fines are up to CDN$10,000, yep that's 10 grand, you loose your licence for a week( first offence) your ride gets towed to a holding place and also gets held for a week, then wait for the insurance to literally rape you for the next 3 years.

A lot of these convictions have stuck in courts throughout Ontario, that included a few Americans over on vacation... if any of you guys cross over into Ontario WATCH your speed!

Your country is run by Communists. I have been to Canada on vacation and business, and enjoyed it, but I will not be back as long as Big Brother is this oppressive. Bad enough I have to hide my radar detector. 50 kph is only 30 mph; those penalties are over the top. (Nothing personal BTW; our country is moving in the same direction.)

Did you see the guy a week later on the Gardiner? 120km/h over, if I recall correctly; also drunk.

Ontario is the only province with that law. Radar detectors are illegal in most provinces (and states, for what it's worth). But ya, not many people here like the 50km/h over law.

can someone/anyone chime in... i was at an intersection with a photo radar and when the light turned green, i was starting to make my right turn and there was a pedestrian i waited for to cross the street. he got about half way across and i then made my turn and then i saw a flash go off. does the photo radar only start working when the light is red and NOT green? i'm just hoping i did not get a ticket...

p.s. my friend thinks i'm paranoid and thinks it's probably from something else or a glitch...

wouldn't it only go off if the light was red (i only proceeded when the light turned green)? i don't remember if there was a car coming from the other direction to where it would of made it go off like it did?

I got a ticket on a intersection camera under similar circumstance. I was coming to a very odd intersection that had 3 roads intersecting the area and it was pouring rain and foggy. I could not see the line of where I needed to stop and while I was approaching at about 5miles per hour two flashes. Low and behold, the ticket came in the mail.

I fought it and won. Here is how.

I explained what happened to the Judge and then used the prosecutors own evidence (the photographs) to show I did not go through the intersection but merely crossed the line. I also got certified records of the weather conditions that night and I got off scott free.

If you have a logical explanation and the pictorial evidence supports your claim, fight it and you can win.

Radar detectors are illegal in 7 out of the 12 provinces/territories and LEGAL in every State in the US except CT, VA and DC.

Radar Jammers are illegal in most, if not all States.

Laser Jammers are illegal in about 12 States (I think - just a guess).
