Yeah, the Mother's is great stuff, but I got the liquid (D'oh) with nothing else, so durability is, shall we say, below par. I got it before I saw autopia or detailcity, when I didn't know anything about proper polishing, compounding, etc. It's a shame that mother's doesn't get mentioned more on these forums.
I've decided I want to step up from the OTC's, now that I have learned more, so I'm going to get a Sears Craftsman orbital, cut out the stock foam pad and get off the adhesive glue, put on some industrial strength velcro and then some good pads ("Isinoh" on these forums is a genious--search his posts). I'll probably go with either FK polish or Wolfgang Total Swirl remover and finishing glaze (they come with free pads, and put them into a cart together on wolfgangcarcare.com and see what happens...). Now that I'm running out of GLiptone Body Gloss, FK425 will be a perfect replacement. My LSP will be 2180 (plus the Mother's on top), Collinite, or a combo of the two (The fact that you can layer over FK2180 immediately is awesome!!). HOW DOES THIS PLAN LOOK TO YOU??
BTW, how long does the 2180 last by itself? And far does each ounce of the product go?
