Chemical Guys: "ONE", pics and process.

I tried ONE for the 1st time on Saturday. It was extremely easy to use and did a great job. I was a little worried about marring as I was with ONR Both proved me wrong.

ONE left a superslick finish with a great shine, as far as taking the LSP off. I don't think it's necessarliy a bad thing especially if you apply a LSP every week anyway. I thought it did a great job in no time at all, it smells great too. As far as being cost effective I had the spray bottle and used less than a quarter of it. I am going to get a couple of gallons of it !

I am really liking CG's stuff especially Wet mirror finish, synthetic qd and ONE. It also doesn't hurt that Paul is awesome to talk with.

On comparing to ONR. ONR quick ONE quicker ( also leaves better protection). You can't go wrong with either.

Keep in mind when comparing the two, cost has to be a factor...One (according to Paul) is not supposed to be dilluted, which makes ONR just so much more cost effective.

Yes but speed is a huge factor with all of us, so, the higher price seems justified to me, when it helps me get my car washed in ten minutes.

I also can't emphasize enough how slick the surface feels after application. Water ABSOLUTELY resists it.

I would LOVE to compare it to the new Megs Ultimate QD.

all of these waterless cleaners scare the crud out of me! with the exception of being green and conserving water, is it really a preferred method?

I'm with you bro, I just don't see how you can spray any liquid on a surface that's dirty and the wipe it off with any towel and not induce marring. It's just beyond logic to me.

I went outside with my bottle of CG ONE today and some MF towels but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.:nixweiss

Money shouldn't be the determining factor( unless you don't have it ) when looking for the best product for your car or cars. My feeling is I spend a lot on my car and it ( I ) deserve the best. That kills me when people quabble over a few bucks. Is ONE better? If not it's sure easier to use.

I have never been one to use or buy something that's not quite what I want because it's cheaper. The money that has been spent on all these new products and to quabble over a few bucks :shocked , I am glad I don't have to worry about that.

Money is not a factor for me for the most part, but if I look at 2 waterless washes, and one will end up being 10x cheaper, and does a great job, it is a no brainer to me.

As I think about the differences these 2 products are less similar that I first thought. ONR is a geat quick fix wash with a little protection thrown in. Great time saver.

ONE is a wash, clean and much more protection and can quite possibly be used as a stand alone. The way the 2 products work justifies the cost for me.

Don't get me wrong I like both but ONE is a super time saver with better shine and gloss .

I believe ONR to be much better than a quick fix wash. It is a fabulous wash and works on both cars dirty and kept up. It also is a great QD.

I can't find ONE on the chemical guys website, do you have to call them to order it or is it still not released yet?

So any final word on this stuff? I don't have a pressure washer/tank combo and some of my clients don't have hoses so I need a waterless car wash. Though I have ONR (use it as clay lube thus far) I'm considering purchasing this because it'll make my client's cars look REAL good after a regular wash... but is it safe? Will it remove LSP? These questions have still not been answered...

Sounds like a remarkable product...pity we can't get in Australia.

Two things I thought of as I read this thread:

1. The clay is more likely used to fill light marring/swirls - the reason most car waxes contain it. Not a bad thing.

2. It may prove quite durable and may replace your LSP if you use it weekly. Its suppose to be made with carnauba. So removing your previous LSP may not be an issue.

Or you can order it from Smartwax® - Evolution In Car Care TM

The ONE there is the same stuff

Isn't SmartWax produced and distributed by CG's?

I just ordered some "One" myself to use as a really fast one step. Time is something I don't have much of these days so anything to give me more time to spend with my family, I am all for it.

I will post back after I try it out.

This would be my overall answer for "ONE"...i have been testing/using for quite some time now...even before it officially had a name :) ....anyway....

does it remove lsp?

no...i "wash" my car with it weekly and probably do a full pressure wash with soap once every three weeks and there is no lack in beading or shine...if it does remove lsp...it replaces it with a layer of its own...

is it safe?

i have yet to get marring or swirls induced by "one"...just like onr you have to be smart about it...dont sit there and buff away with a dirty towel....but i can tell you right now that ONE can tackle a much dirtier car than onr or QEW...even with an onr wash you can "feel" the grit...with ONE you get a much smoother wipe...

is it the same as smartwax one?

yes it is

other comments to answer..."onr is better because it can be used as a clay lube"

....so can "ONE" ...try it out...it helps to reduce marring induced by most of the clays that are now on the market...after you wipe away the ONE residue after claying a spot you will be treated to a smooth surface that looks like it has just been waxed....

also it saves time...you will find you do not have to wax after applying ONE....you can...but many of my clients come out and watch what i do to check up on me...often after a wash with ONE all of my clients always come out and say "Wow...you already waxed it?" and i let them know that the wax has yet to be done

the only downside to ONE i admit will be the price....other than that it is far superior to anything else on the market...just my opinion...but the results seem to prove it..

While I will agree with you on performance, it is not that much more solid than ONR, and you get about 20 times the amount for the same price with ONR. It is going to be a tough sell to people using ONR.
