CD-2 Engine Detailer

I generally spray it on let it sit then buff it off everywhere I can reach as if you spray it on to heavy it becomes spotty

CD2 is a top shelf product and has paid big dividends if you haven't tried it and still can find it TRY IT!!!

now I'm having the same problem as everybody else finding it

I picked up 2 cans of CD-2 from Amazon a couple of months ago, after reading all the reviews, but I've been hesitant to use because I thought I may need to protect the exterior paint from any overspray.

Nobody seems to mention this, so maybe I'm mistaken that this would be a problem ?

I myself just covered the fenders and front bumper with masking paper. I did this to make sure no degrease and the CD-2 wasn't getting on the body of the car.

Online its basically $10 or $9 for buying a case of 6. Then obviously shipping.

Yes that is why the OP started this thread!

did you PM him for a quote?

I am sure he could save you a few bucks

So has autozone started carrying it again? I had my sister purchase a couple of cans a while back from Midway in Dallas. She just ferried it to me on her next trip to Oklahoma so I didn't get hit with the shipping.

how does this spray? Is it like stoners IG aerosol, its like a spray not a mist/fog? Foamer?

It is in an aerosol can and sprays out as a spray, just like a no foaming window cleaner like IG.

I just picked up 2 cans at a local Autozone. I was surprised that they still had it.

I also bought 2 cans at Autozone on Thursday and when I said to the sales clerk that I was happy to get a couple of cans before he ran out of his supply, he said hadn't been told that Autozone had decided not to stock it any more.

whats the UPC or model number for this product? They said they needed 1 of those. I went to autozone to check if they had any with this # CD2-4516, but it didnt work. I want to see if any autozone has them avail.

Ok Ok what is going on, i went to autozone, UPC is correct. It showed up in system as having 9 of them as the cd-2 engine detailer. They werent on the floor. The store manager said that black magic bought them out awhile ago. I said no turtle wax did. She showed me to the black magic 2 in 1 engine detailer. I said this is not it and this is a worse product than cd-2. So whats up with this cd-2? She said its the same exact formula in this bottle, but just under a different company because they bought them out. I want the real cd-2 bottle locally! When i looked at the tag it did say I think #4516. , which cd2-4516.

Alright, I finally got a chance to try this stuff out. Both of our new cars are almost completely covered in plastic under the hood, so they stay fairly clean. The test subject was my 91' Accord. I didn't take any befores because the camera was dead. Imagine not being cleaned for about 5 or 6 years and the dust that accumulates from going to college in West Texas. It was pretty bad.

I started by cleaning everything off with Purple Power. I dried everything with the leaf blower . Then I pretty much followed the can and sprayed on everything in sight almost. In spite of the instructions, like others have said, I did have to wipe it in some places. Ignore the fact that the valve cover is peeling, it is on the mental to-do list. By the way, I know the engine compartment is ugly, this car was made before people decided it needed to be pretty under the hood.

By the way, it is possible to make white paint shine, even if it is 17 years old. It was hit about two months ago with IP and then topped with Signature Series.

You can use that UPC all day at autozone but when its said and done on your receipt, it will say you bought black magic engine shine 20oz when they scan a 12.5 oz of CD-2, suppose BM is the replacment? Both stores I went back to today had one can of BM in front of any CD2 they had :sadwavey:

If the paint is properly polished use DG501 followed by DG105 - you may think differently about white paint...

Kudos on the cd2 find.....

Simracer, I just went to 3 autozones on the north side of OKC (Edmond) and 2 of the stores had like 2 cans in stock, of course now they are out of stock:lol . I would check the other ones around town.

Just picked up last two cans at local AutoZone

They said more was on the way. It was with the black magic stuff. It is the same? The Employee said CD-2 was bought out
