Brand Loyalty

I was wondering if anyone out there is totally committed to a specific brand of detailing products. New car is on the way, and I'm looking to start a fresh collection.

I really don't think anyone uses one single brand all the time. There is so much variety and good products from many different brands, using one all the time would be boring. In addition, some brands have some of the best polishes(Menzerna, Optimum) while others have really great LSPs. You should find what works for you, and not worry about ordering from just one brand.

I like whatever works the best, not brand specific. Some folks do like all the bottle lables to line up perfectly though and wont stray.

I would say 85% of the stuff I actually use is from Hi-Temp or Topoftheline. I bought from alot of different makers for quite some time and just got tired of it. Simplifying to one or two lines has been really nice.

ive overlooked megs for so long i feel foolish. i used thier otc stuff and a few pro polishes but if i were to stick to one brand only itd probably be megs. other than that welcome to the most caring place for your vehicle on the web. use the search feature for plenty of products to choose from. use em all and you tell us which is best lol jk. most of us have a plethora different brands in our arsenal. i dont really find any pro line dominant over any other as far as waxes/polishes are concerned.

I don't think I'm brand loyal, as evidenced by my collection of many different brands of detailing supplies. I frequently try out different products from different manufacturers. If I find something I really like, I'll re-order it when it runs out...unless I've found a similar product I like better.

On my past cars I used only Megs. I got a new truck and I use mostly only Zaino producs. I use Eagle 1 tire/wheel cleaner and Megs Natural Vinyl for engine trim. Also Megs QD interior wipes are pretty good too.

I'm 99% committed to using Auto Magic products. I've been faithful for almost 15 years. They sell just about everything and I know how each product works/reacts. If they don't have it, I don't need it. Sorry that I'm partial, but I've built a very sucessful business using their products exclusively. Their service in my area have been 2nd to none as well.

I have to agree with the others. I love Collinite for wax protection, but then I like several different sealants, and then there is polish, and dressings......

I guess my brand loyalty is there for certain things, but I am not loyal to 100% of my car care to one brand line.

-David Fermani- i have used some, well very little of auto magics stuff. the window cleaner(green liquid) is absolutly amazing. what polishes do you use? i've used the xp sentheticut to remove swirls and it didnt really do what i expected. i havent tried any of their waxes either, theres just so many different ones. guess ill start buying from them, theres one about 20 min. from where i live.

I think for the most part each line has one or two REALLY stand out products...for example, you can't really get Poorboy's S&W anywhere else, except for the DP version. I much prefer the S&W. Z8 is without rival in the spray sealant game. Griot's Speed Shine is the best carnauba based QD spray I've ever used. Sonus Swirlbuster pad/polish combo is the only one of its type that gives me the results I desire on my GTO. Meg's interior QD wipes are must haves and unique. Couldn't do without Pinnacle Souveran Paste.

To be honest, if I had to have just ONE product line, I would probably choose Zaino, but I would go crazy! It'd sure free up a lot of space in my garage, though...

Not many people use poorboy's i take it ?

A lot of people use poorboys, but its just not a brand that pops into most peoples head when they think of only one brand to choose from. Although, poorboys would be a brand that I would use exclusively.

Personally I would never restrict myself to a single brand - in my experience all manufactuers products excellent products and products I find less good than equivalents from other manufacturers. So, I like to build up a collection of all of the products from various manufacturers that I really like.

I find myself using mostly Duragloss products these days...car wash, interior cleaners, leather/vinyl protectants, tire products, sealant (105), Aquawax, Fast Clean and Shine, etc etc...

Their products just do exactly what I prefer and need on my cars, and the ability to drive down the street to find them is a huge plus. I've been through most other product lines (boutique or otherwise), and I find that DG suits my needs the best.

Regards,

Mike :)

I try to pick out the best product from each line. SO this rules out brands that only work well with their own kind. I also like to encourage competition by spreading my dollars around to different brands. I see no advantage in giving all my dinero to one company.

Lately I've been ordering my quick detailing stuff from Finish Kare because they sell in gallon sizes and only charge you $5 for shipping no matter how much you buy. And the products are first rate compared to everthing I have been using over the years. Definitely better value and quality than Meguiars, Mothers, FX etc.

This what I will use from each brand

1-Swirl Remover - Poorboys

2-cleaning Polish- WerkStatt Prime (previous Klasse All In One but they changed the formula)

3-Sealant- Poorboys EX with Carnauba

4-Wax- Optimum Spray Wax or Werkstatt Carnauba Jett (maybe the two mixed)

5-Cleaning Quick Detailer (post wash)- Finish Kare 146

6-Wax Spray Booster - Duragloss Aqua Wax or more of the Optimum Spray Wax

7- Anti Static Barrier - Finish Kare 425

8- Tires- Michelin Tire Dressing

9- Dash- 1Z vinyl and rubber
